So what do you guys think? Do you think we will get the S curl, or a different hair cut in the final episodes or the last episode? Or at all?

What? You can't tell me it doesn't look at least a little silly. In the comics doesn't seem so bad but in live action looks god awful. At least for now. The one thing I liked about Dean Cain's Superman more than the others, was that he was missing the spitcurl. That's as if in the Green Lantern movie they had chosen to keep Hal's white gloves. It may look good on paper, but on film it would look ridiculous. I feel the same way regarding the S curl.

to me, its just as iconic, as his S on his chest, but thats just my opinion..:yay:

The s curl is a signature trademark of the character and Tom actually looks great with the curl .

So I'm all for it .

Even if he never has an obvious spit curl, he should atleast have a hairstyle similar to Dean Cain's Clark Kent. It's shorter, and kindof wavy so there's sortof a natural spit curl as a result. Not the fake, jelled up kind, but just a wavy lock of hair.

A man in blue tights with red trunks, red boots and a cape, and you think a lock of hair would make him look silly?

No, just that the curl is in my opinion unnecessary.

I don't really care if he does or not.

as long as it doesnt look like his hair is covered in gel. Id rather have his curl look natural

Tom Welling actually has the most perfect type of hair to play Superman. If it were cut and styled the right way the spit curl would look natural and great on him.

I voted no, however at the time I was letting Superman Returns overcomlicated curl cloud my real opinion.

I'm all for a curl, it's an iconic part of the characters design. However that being said, I don't want another Superman Returns situation in Smallville if it shows it or in an future film. Such a hairstyle was a completely unrealistic hairstyle it what was supposed to be a 'more realistic' take on Superman.

I've always thought, for the most part, Smallville has kept things realistic whenever possible in a story about a flying alien.. anyway. I think if they plan on going this far, and indeed in any future Superman film, that the 'curl' should ALWAYS look natural. Reeve's curl looked realistic for the most part it wasn't as touched up as the Brandon Routh one was. However I want it to go one step further, I want it to always kinda look like his hair has just fallen that way after flying/super speeding at such speeds.

I've had a picture of Tom Welling himself ironically saved on my comp for ages as to how I'd like the curl to look both in Smallville & in any future film. It actually looks like it was unintentional & his hair simply fell that way.. which the way I want it to look.

That's exactly how it should look. Shorter back and side and his hair is perfect.

i actually think that tom doesn't want to have shorter hair, otherwise we'd have seen it shorter a long time ago.

he's come pretty close to it , but he always seems to have it longer in the back and sides, even if the length on top is fine.

i really can't see why he doesn't just cut it, it's the last season after all, and besides, he can always grow it back after the show ends.

Long(er) hair Superman is fine with me. :D

I'm watching season 7 at the moment and it's probably the shortest he's had it and it looks good. He definitely looks more mature with it shorter.
