Has anyone else noticed that each episode we're starting to see more and more of the Superman curl in Clark's hair?

There has been a few times, especially in episodes in 2 and 3, where there were enough stands of hair down further from the rest of his hairline that it started looking like the Superman curl.

My wife, who enjoys Smallville, but is certainly not comic obsessed like me, also noticed the difference.

Anyone got pictures?

I always thought that, over the course of the series, whenever Clark has wet hair or is fixing his hair for a dance or something the curl should have naturally hung down, irritating the hell outta Clark!

We also should have seen Clark shaving using his hear vision in the mirror, ala The Animated Series!

meh, i always thought superman's curl looked stupid.

The /S/ curl is not stupid, it's just part of the Superman mythos, as is the /S/ symbol altogether.

Being part of the mythos doesn't matter. It still looks stupid.

:O

I'm not entirely convinced that a scrap of hair has any mythological weight anyway but it's not something that a guy can get away with today for me.

No but there is definitely a spit curl. I watched Kara again. If you watch the last scene in the barn there is definitely a shorter hair cut in some scenes and the spit curl is obvious. I wonder if this could be a reshoot? It's not that uncommon. Where it is really obvious is the side view. The it changes back to the more common length. Could someone post that for me. Maybe it's my imagination it sure looks different. I wonder if he is already filming jLA? and this is cut for the movie. Because all he would have to do is wet it down and you have Superman. Could be a trick of the light but who knows. :wow:

I pointed out the Curl in Kara in the barn talk first dammit! Don't take that away from me!

It's not that serious.....

I think the /S/ curl should stay in Smallville, it just makes him more Superman-ish.

The spit curl is part of the Superman character and has been since Day One, unlike other aspects of the mythology. Could they discard it in SV's version? Sure! They did in L&C, and we all lived LOL. But if you're going to cling to the mythology on some things, you can't just cherry pick what you feel is important and not important.

Personally, I could care less if they give Clark the S curl. I don't feel it's THAT important to Clark Kent or Superman, though it would be a geeky nod if they do reference it. It's use or omission doesn't change who he is inside. As long as they get the heart of the character right, I'm good. They don't have to import every little detail from the mythology in order for Clark to become Superman. Indeed, I think some things are better left on the drawing board. But that's just me.

Thank you for pointing out what I stated from the beginning: The spitcurl is part of the mythology even though it isn't super important.
