Give the guy a new suit, new haircut, the kings to the kindom and tell him "look, now behave this time or we'll be back".
The Question said:I really don't know. Puting him back in power would be a bad thing, but it would definately restore order to the nation.

Maxwell Smart said:The truth of Iraq is that there are a lot of primitive and ignorant people there. The place unfortunately requires a heavy hand and when it comes down to it there will be another dictatorship whether its Hussein again or not.
We thought we could start a Jeffersonian democracy in the Middle East and we were dead wrong. Its every bit as flawed as the 'White Man's burden'. In order for a democracy to come about Iraqi society itself will have to make true, deep philosophical changes, and thats not going to happen. When the West turned to democracy, we had been through the Reformation and Enlightenment. Iraq has not. And until it goes through such a thing nothing but a Draconian government will be able to function there.
So would you rather have a secular dictator, or a theocratic government that will be completely counterproductive to our cause of defeating Islamic extremism?
