The Swede on Hollywood career, playing Liam Neesons son - and dreams of working with Noomi Rapace in Sweden

It’s time for another action movie with Joel Kinnaman. This time is called the film “Run All Night,” and that is exactly what his character does - fleeing assassin by the New York night

I had been looking a long time for a movie that was on the father-son theme, and this was such a good script that it was obviously to accept it. In addition, it attracted course to play against Liam Neeson says Joel Kinnaman when the TT meet him at a hotel in New York.


Being chased by killer
In the “Run all night” Liam Neeson plays a former assassin with mafia ties and Ed Harris, his childhood friend and manager. Highly realistic
It really feels that “Run all night” was recorded on location in New York. The director Jaume Collet-Serra notes that this was his intention that the film would feel really realistic. And Joel Kinnaman says:


- It happens too often that movies are being made in, for example, Toronto, though it is supposed to be New York. This did do really good reason. It is really New York.

Kinnaman has now Los Angeles base. He owns a house there, but thy great filming means that he is not there very often. He believes that during 2015 maximum will spend a few weeks there.


- I like it in LA. But wherever you are, so devoid always something. I’m restless to me, I will not stay long anywhere. But LA is a much more interesting city now than when I moved there. Town has experienced a renaissance in downtown are large premises at low prices, which features artists from around the world.

Works with Espinosa

He had his international breakthrough in Daniel Espinosa’s “fast cash”, and he keeps in constant contact with the Swedish director and has one of the lead roles in his “Child 44”, which receives Swedish premiere May 1 Based on a best-seller is a claustrophobic depiction of political repression and serial killer hunting in the Stalinist Soviet Union.


- I play Vasili, who is the enemy of the guy played by Tom Hardy. It was fun, it’s a role unlike anything I’ve done before. I have never played such a psychopath before.

When the TT meet him, he has come directly from the set of a psychological thriller in Canada. Above him he has “Suicide Squad”, based on a DC Comics property about a secret agent organization of super villains. It could be a series of films, and that he looks forward to.


- They are investing course for this to become a franchise, and I think that would just be fun.


And the movies in the old country Sweden? Yes, it is included in the plans.

- In the beginning here in the US, I wanted to build my career here. Now I’m more established and could think of to do, for example every other film in the United States and every other in Sweden. I’m looking for something that Naomi and I could do together.

Name: Charles Joel Kinnaman.Born: 1979 in Stockholm.Background: Went Malmö Theatre Academy 2003-2007. Then worked at the Gothenburg City Theatre, but also filmed early. 2002, he starred in “The Invisible” and later had roles in movies such as “God Save the King” and “Arn” films. In 2008 he was nominated for Guldbaggen for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Johan Falk _ The group of special attention.”


The real breakthrough: In the “fast cash” which came in 2010. For the role of the JW, he was rewarded with Guldbaggen for Best Actor.


International career: Television series “The Killing” movies “Robocop,” “Knight of Cups” and more. “Child 44” gets Swedish theatrical release May 1

Nice! Can't wait to see Kinnaman in this movie. I hope it's a substantial role because he's a great actor. Given that Hardy was originally supposed to be Flagg, I'm guessing the role is a good one. I wonder if Hardy recommended Kinnaman for the part when he had to drop out of the film. It almost sounds that way in that interview he gave. They worked together on Child 44.

The social media stuff seems to point to Ayer creating a good environment on set. The cast is getting along and that bodes well usually, though it's no guarantee of quality. Still, I am betting a good sense of camaraderie on set is more often than not a sign of a good production.

Yeah, I think Kinnaman is going to crush this. Guy is a great actor (he was fantastic in The Killing and good in Run All Night and Robocop) and it looks like he's going to be good here as the no-nonsense, common sense member of the group.

They also wanted Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Cruise for the role as well. So thats a possibility.
