Stephen Lang, William H. Macy, or R. Lee Ermey are my picks for JJJ.
However, if Sony was smart, they'd just bring back J.K. Simmons. The guy owned the role.
I hate when Marvel casts an actor they used before as someone else. Messes with the universe IMO.
I thought of R. Lee Ermey as well. However, Simmons nailed JJJ. I mean he was perfectly cast and imo will not be topped. Sort of like RDJ as Tony Stark, Simmons was JJJ through and through. I certainly would not mind Simmons coming back. Judi Dench as M in Casino Royale didn't bother anybody so I don't see how Simmons as JJJ would either. He is a minor character anyways.
has Sam Eliot done a movie where he isn't speaking with his cowboy accent? because thats kind of a no no for JJJ
I think that's more because of the writting!I loved JK Simmons as JJJ but he was used merelya s a comedic relief. i think there's much more to Jameson than that.
CR is a different kettle of fish. The Bond movies since the very start have never been too bothered about continuity.

There's a way to make JJJ seem mean, sarcastic and serious at the same time--without turning him into a cheesy character of himself. Let's treat The Daily Bugle with some damn respect. And not have characters like Hoffman and JJJ playing The Two Stooges and basically making Spider-Man's villains seem like non-threatening and happy-go-lucky men in tights. The Daily Bugle needs to be a serious establishment that introduces and broadcast dangerous super-powered killers.
Give real reasons why Spider-Man is dangerous in the eyes of JJJ, he interferes with police business, he puts more people in harms way when fighting these super-powered beings, he and the villains causes property damage in the millions. Not everyone gets to see Spider-Man saving lives. This would actually make JJJ seem credible to some New Yorkers, given them some good and legit reasons NOT to like Spider-Man.
Who said UBER serious? I said make him sarcastic and serious. As I prefer SARCASTIC over HUMOR, as in NOT trying to make the audience laugh. That's why we have Spider-Man, he handles the funny. It's almost like they gave JJJ Spider-Man's personality. JJJ needs to be more serious than humorous. The moment he becomes a clown, so does everything that he says about Spidey's villains and Spider-Man himself, including the Daily Bugle as a newspaper becoming a circus.Who said include Hoffman and make him uber goofy? JJJ has NEVER been an uber serious character. Hence why I don't feel Elliot is right for it. JJJ has always had an element of surrealism and humor. That is part of what makes him a great character. Making him uber serious just to mke a point not to be cheesy is stupid. You can have a humerous yet not cheesy JJJ. Elliot is not that.
