Sam Raimi pulls EGM Spider-Man 3 VG Article.

I like this decision. When I see Venom in all his glory, I want it to be him from the actual movie. It would ruin the impact if the first time we saw him was as a video game sprite, and then the real one later.

Yep for many of us hoping to finally get a glimpse of venom got our hopes crushed this month. EGM Magazine came in today and it was supposed to have a spider-man 3 cover and a whole preview on the game with screens of venom but apparently last minute Sam Raimi stopped it from happening. The editor in chief Dan Hsu apologizes in the editorial.

Unfortunately he hasnt put anything up in his editor blog at http://egm.1up.com/ but maybe other people who also happen to have a subscription to EGM can confirm this with a scan as I do not have a scanner.

This is the first time I posted in the Spidey forum since Comic Con. I planned on taking a break until the trailer.

Who gives a crap about what Venom looks like. Couldnt we get an in depth preview on what the gameplay is going to be like? What they upgraded or made better? Really dont care what Venom's going to look like. I want to know if this game is worth 60 bucks.

Venom fans (myself included) should be happy he is even in this movie, considering Raimi's dislike of the character. Raimi wants us to LOVE Venom, not be like "meh!" when we see the movie. He is only waiting to reveal Venom so we are suprised...that is the only reason.

Besides, we already know what he looks like in the film. He is like a smaller (not much smaller) version of the comics look for him. He has the big mouth/teeth, tounge, and drool. (I think he will drool) So no need to worry, Raimi will MOST LIKELY reveal Venom's OFFICIAL look in the next trailer, which we'll be gloriously watching come November.


And NO.....we only have about 2 months for the new trailer, and it is NOT long at all to wait.

Acting overly special abotu a certain thing only goes as far as the thing is unknown. Vile was cool when he had his Q and A about the CC video, but acting like an ass later on now because he saw it and others didn't...that is just bad form. Shows what kinda person he is.

I'm glad i have no faith in humanity or it would actually bother me enough to make a scene. But i just layed out the honest truth, if he has an issue with what i said...my email and IM are readily available and only one person has ever taken that up. Its interesting. Board peopel express alot of issues with someone but can't confront on a real time level. I welcoem it.

Exactly, thats all I wanted, just to see what the game looks like and how the gameplay is. Just like Game Informers preview for Spider-Man 2. Its had loads of pictures of Spidey going around the city, explaining the new gameplay, and had 2 concept drawings of Mysterio and the Lizard (though he ended up getting taken out of the game).

If i was working for Sony i'd probably do the same thing Raimi is doing. I'd probably wait until the release to show him off if i had my way.

We never got to see Phoenix pre-X2 either.

I believe they ****ed up Venom, and that is why we haven't seen him yet. We know he has a huge mouth and teeth and tongue, but that doesn't automatically mean he was done right. If we still haven't seen him by the end of this coming trailer, then we know they ****ed him up, but it's possible that they ****ed him up, and then they are going to redo him, or have redone him already. You never know.

I for one am glad Sam Raimi put a stop to this, he's done a good thing, I salute him. Allow the movie to build slowly, as the second trailer is being waited on by freakin' geekin' masses.

I agree. We all know what venom looks like so its not going to be a huge shock to the system but after the atrocity that was the usm game, I want to know details regarding the gameplay and if its going to be another crappy chase the vilain game.
