Have you guys checked out any of the promos for Samurai Girl? It's on ABC Family starting Sept. 5th. I think it looks pretty awesome. It's got Jamie Chung running around with a sword trying to uncover her fathers secrets as to why he's involved with the mob. I think it could be pretty awesome.

Here's the promo I saw.

ABC Family ? I guess we can kiss gory death scenes goodbye.

give it a chance

I'm going to agree. That's one really nice thing about this show, The way the schedule works is, it's a 3 part series... 2 hours airing Fri Sept. 5th, 2 hours Sat. Sept.6th, and 2 hours Sun. Sept. 7th. So it's nice you don't have to invest weeks and weeks of your time... you can just check it all out in one weekend. I think it's a great idea to schedule it like that.

looks atrocious

people laughed at the preview footage they showed of this before the movie previews came on at the dark knight movie

that...Looks like crap(coming from someone who has studied Japanese language/culture for half his life.)

If you want to watch a true samurai flics then go see

Shogun Assassin(inspired a lot of comic pros)

If it's a mini-series and not an actual series, they might take more graphic liberties with it. I remember when ABC Family did 'Fallen', they had notices after every commerical saying that some scenes could be too violent for younger viewers. It wasn't all that much violent, but more than ABC Fam usually does.

Obviously this is not a tradaitional Japanese movie... it's by an American director, who actually wrote an episode of Alias, so because of that, it's going to have some Western influence. Also, with it being on ABC family obviously it won't be as graphic as typical Samurai movies. That being said I think it can still be really entertaining and definitely worth my time to tune in and see how it turns out.

This thread needs some pics. Well, here you go:

Nice- thanks! Jamie is looking awesome in some of those... I recognize that other guy, Brendan Fehr from some CSI Miami, his acting was good in that, so that's a good sign.

ABC Family has been doing a nice job with their programming... first Greek ( a huge success) and now this.

could be interesting? i'll check it out. Fallen was good, tho the ending i didnt care for much. wonder if that'll be comin out on dvd.

How come they never released a DVD of Fallen? I wanted to see it

i taped 'em off of ABC Family just in case they never did release 'em on dvd.

I never got to see Fallen, but a few of my friends I know enjoyed it. I guess that 3 part series worked out well last time... and ABC Family will try an capitalize on that same idea this time around, except condense everything down to one weekend. I also read, which is smart that if you miss the 2 hour premier on Fri, they're going to repeat those 2 hours from 6-8pm on Saturday and then go in to the new stuff from 8-10.

I hope this becomes an actual series, not just a mini series. To me it looks good.

This has 'guilty pleasure' written all over it.

You can actully download the first episode that's going to air this Friday on Itunes for free. I just finished watching and was pretty entertained. Jamie Chung did a nice job and she was looking good too.

makes me want to eat some keibler cookies with her. I apologize for the bad pun.

welcome back to tv super stacy

I've been seeing ABC Fam promoting the heck out of this show.

I just absolutely love that Jamie Chung is working on her movie career with this and her being in Dragonball. She was so adorable on Real World San Diego.
