i heard about them but at this present time i am straped for cash and busy with school with no way to get to any local comic shops.

That sucks, man. As soon as you scrape up some cash for comics, buy Preludes and Nocturnes.

Yea i hate having very little/no money right now and not be able to go and get things. i will keep the series in mind and maybe one of the times i get to my local comic shop i go to when i am home on breaks/weekends from school might see if they got any sandman stuff.

Libraries are your friend. Most libraries that carry a selection of graphic novels are likely to carry Sandman.

Anyone remember the JLA book with Sandman showing up at the Watchtower? That was a good story.

The one in Preludes and Nocturnes? Yeah that was pretty damn good.

I would really like to see this get picked up somehow as an animated television series, allowing them to tell the whole story, which would provide the time for cameos like this. However, either way, I'm sure they could fit him in a Sandman film. In fact, wasn't it him who helped recover the bag of sand or something like that in Preludes and Nocturnes, which was one of the things needed to get Dream all of his power back? It's been a few years since I read it, so I might be way off.

if the character was likely to be in a film if it did happen they could easily recast. Didnt they want to redo the film or make a sequel with a new actor.

At a whopping 75 issues, Vaughn's position may be well founded -- since the perspective came following an exchange with the author himself.

doing a tv series would probably be best way to adapt this comic better? plus if it was to go on hbo or showtime network they would be able to get away with more graphic stuff.

I´ve been defending for years that the best format to adapt Sandman would be a HBO series. But I also think it should be animated, which would be more cost-effective.

If they do a series, I am really rooting for it to be animated. It would be cheaper and easier to capture the tone of the comics.
