So I made some threads awhile back talking about how I was going back to school, and I did, and I'm glad I did, but **** it's hard. And I know it's not for a lack of trying, my mindset is completely different now than it was when I was doing jr. college. I'm actually putting forth the effort, it just doesn't seem to be working out so far.

I really hope I can get it together soon because finals are coming up soon.

Study, study, and study and you be fine.

You're in university right? It takes at least a semester to get used to how the grading works and what the workload is. Give it some time and you'll soon find that the work is a lot more manageable.

Listen to what everyone else has said and also when choosing your class/professor go to ratemyprofessor.com and make sure the reviews on the professor are good! That site, plus myspace, has allowed me to select the better options as far as professor's go which can help you out in the long run.

Dude, learning is for wussies, you should just drink a lot.

Just like with every new experience, there's a learning curve. You just have to get used to the workload and form your own unique way of dealing with it.

Whatever you do, though, don't listen to losers like this:

lol yea I think a lot of it is just getting used to university. My college experience prior to this was community college. But yea, I'm at a legit university now. MTSU, rated the top public university in Tennessee (I.E.: best school not named Vanderbilt), division 1 football and everything.

Gonna take a educated guess form watching some college football and playing NCAA football video games in my day, but...MTSU stands for Middle Tennessee State University, right?

Just don't get too down on yourself if the first semester is rough. In my first year I was majorly overwhelmed. I was homesick, I had a relationship back home, I was freaked out about the workload, and I was trying to "experience" university. It was way too much for my 17/18 year old self to handle. In high school I was A+ student. In first year university my grades were all over the place. I remember coming home from an Anthro exam and having a complete breakdown because I bombed it so badly. But it gets better. By fourth year I was doing really well and I had an awesome group of friends. You'll find that too.

And well I do encourage studying, make sure you get outside of the box and try some other things, join a campus club etc. Some of the most valuable learning experiences I had in university were outside of the classroom.

just 4 more weeks and I'm done with college for good!

I still have a whole semester and a half to go.

I'm going to miss the college life but I'm also ready to move on. Graduation will be bittersweet.

Thanks. I definitely do want to join some activities. I'm actually rather disappointed that I missed the signups for intramural football. I may look at joining intramural basketball. I'd also like to at some point join theater.

And Immortal, yes, MTSU = Middle Tennessee State University. Blue Raiders.

Congrats! It's the same for me as well, graduate with my first Bachelor's in December. I will be going back for two more semesters though as I am currently a double major. *Sarcasm* Can't get enough of school. *Sarcasm* lol.

As tough as it may be it only gets harder when you enter into your professional career. At least at the beginning it is.

Yeah, a 4 year university is much different than community college. Community college is basically highschool the sequel.

I have a friend who is going through that adjustment from college to full-time job. He said the first 6 months were the worst because he was learning on the job and just a different atmosphere all together from college.
