I agree. His voice is one of the main things that makes me want him as Dent. It's also the main thing I have against Jake Gyllenhaal in the role. Harvey needs a strong, commanding voice, and Shreiber has that more than any other candidate (especially Gyllenhaal who still sounds like he hasn't hit puberty).

Liev Schreiber is da man. Ever since I saw him The Manchurian Candidate I thought he would make an excellent Harvey Dent.
I'm also really glad he is excited about it, but why hasn't anyone from warner brothers contacted him about it?

Who else has a feeling that Batman casting is not nearly as far along as we think? I mean you have many people who have been rumored (according to "sources" at BOF) for certain roles (Dent, Joker, etc) and have shown interest in said roles, and yet have not been officially contacted by WB for these roles - (Mainly Bettany, Schrieber and Lucas).

Either WB has contacted basically no one for potentially staring in the film, or 90% of the news from BOF is BS right now.

Alot of it's rumors. Nolan's been working on another movie! Once that's released we should get more movement on the sequel front.

I agree, howeverI have an agenda - I am just trying to validate the fact that just because Bettany has said he has not had any "official talks" with WB it doesnt mean he is not a true candidate

i'm sure Nolan and WB are thinking about and talking about a few people, they just haven't actually contacted them yet. I doubt they'll start talking to people until fall, when The Prestige is wrapping up post-production.

Also there's the possibility that these people have been asked not to say anything by the studios.

Nolan, Bale, and Caine have been having meetings about the sequel while on the set of Prestige as we all know. They've been exchanging a few names around, but nowhere near casting yet. Considering Nolan mentioned that he had no idea, that Lucas was that interested in the role of Dent when asked about it. He seemed more focused on the story of the sequel, even calling it "exciting." So far, only Hulme has met with the producers, which he was very secretive about. And Bettany hasn't had any official negotiations yet, just rumors. Jackman, Lucas, and Schreiber all spoke publicly about thier interests in the sequel.

After Prestige's release in October, that's when we should start hearing more things about casting when pre-production begins early next year.

Well, he's definitely got the voice for the part. I'm still not sure I think he's a good enough actor for it though. I've seen the Manchurian Candidate, but I'll admit, I fell asleep during part of it, and I don't remember very much of the movie. I'm beginning to be more open to Schreiber being Dent, but I still want Guy Pearce.

Heh, The Manchurian Candidate put me to sleep too. Rented it the other day, tried to watch it, but I couldn't stay awake! A movie that puts me to sleep is a piece o' crap!

I'm starting to be ok with Schreiber, but I don't think his voice is the best for the role. Joaquin Phoenix has the best look, and the best voice, for the role.
