Sci-Fi - Should Execs be removed?

They should put back on:
Quatam Leap
sliders
the incdabile hulk
wonder women
John doe
now and aging
I wish they would add 7 days.

They still show the Incredible Hulk from time to time.

I used to absolutely love the Sci-fi channel as a kid. They had a lot of great stuff that, as a kid, you felt like you'd get in trouble if you were caught watching it, which is the best kind of programming. I think I slowly stopped watching soon after MST3K was canceled though.

bring back the super-hero world block

They should keep their good shows going for longer and quit knocking them off to make room for crap. If the Sci Fi execs had any sense, Farscape and The Invisible Man would still be running. :o

Meanwhile, I think they're just shooting themselves in the foot with all the antics they're pulling with BSG. They finally have a bona fide hit with universal critical praise, and they're basically making it as hard as possible for fans to watch it. First they withhold it for a ridiculously long hiatus so they can switch it to premiere in October, then they break up the season so Razor sits by itself, then the first few episodes of season 4 air, and then they're likely going to hold the last half of season 4 until 2009 now? Weak sauce. :o

Eureka is a huge hit too, and it's actually a fun show.

Sci Fi should do the following:

Play the good cult classics: Sliders, Dead Like Me, John Doe, The Outer Limits.
Add The Dresden Files back, pick up re-runs of The Lone Gunmen, tone down Flash Gordon make it more Flash Gordon and less Sliders meets Entourage.

Limit themselves on the Monster movies, cancel ECW or get it moved this is Sci-Fi not Redneck.

give Painkiller Jane another season and most importantly:

Promote Doctor Who more and give Eureka what it needs.

I'd rather the Sci-Fi channel make two good movies out of the whole year instead of one crappy one every week. For television shows the same applies.

I love Eureka & BSG so I'm glad to hear they're doing well ratingswise even though this will be the latter's final season. A pity because it's the only "Humans in sPace" drama I can stomach.

Also, Who wants to be a Superhero was fun.

I was never a huge fan of Flash Gordon but I watched one episode not knowing how to feel. I recall seeing a Star Wars origin sPecial talk about how Flash was such an influence on that saga and I put this on wondering "is this what viewers want nowadays? Cuz it seems like they just took all the things Superman fans don't like about Smallville, translated and accentuated them."

Never gave Painkiller Jane a chance.

Eureka's pretty good. Painkiller Jane didn't interest me at all. The Dresden Files was fun, but I won't particularly miss it (although Paul Blackthorn was a good, charismatic lead--maybe they should move him to another show that stands half a chance of surviving).

ECW needs to go. Seriously. Why is it on the Sci Fi Channel?

Well they did do one thing right by getting Heroes season 1. It took faith in the show when no one else wanted it. But no that it is famous they can't afford it. I feel sorry for them really the Sci Fi channel (UK) has so little going for it as all the main Sci Fi shows go to more powerful networks.

Them bastards canceled the Dresden Files ! :cmad:

And to answer the question, Should Execs be removed?

Yes. :cmad:

How the heck did that show get cancelled but not PKJ?!
Yeah, they should be fired! That network could be so much more if they had HALF a brain and marketing since!

yeah but it lasted longer than the Dresden files. It didn't make any sense!

FarScape's cancellation was tragic. I am still not over it. I can only hope this upcoming webseries is a test to see if there is still a fanbase for a spin-off.

Painkiller Jane and Dresden Files are both cancelled. I'm a big Eureka fan and have just recently gotten into Stargate.....as far as Star Trek reruns, those are Paramounts/Viacom's property(hence why they are on Viacom-owned Spike TV) and since Sci-Fi is owned by Universal, dont expect to see a large amount of anything Star Trek on that channel.

I don't know how it works in the UK, but in the US the Sci Fi Channel is owned by NBC-Universal, same as NBC, USA, and various other TV networks. They can air their shows on whichever network they choose; it's really just a matter of where they air first. Most of the sci fi/fantasy shows re-air on the Sci Fi Channel at weird times, even if they air first on NBC, as you saw with Heroes. I imagine the Sci Fi Channel will re-air Heroes season 2 just as it did season 1, too.

not everyone that watches ECW is a redneck....WWE and Universal figure that a good chunk of Sci-Fi's demographic probably watches wrestling, and they aren't half wrong.....its one hour a week on a Tuesday night, get over it.....WWE and Universal have a deal, thats why its on Sci-Fi.....I like BSG, Stargate, Eureka.....what is it exaclty that Eureka needs??? It seems to be doing fine, it just got a third season....

They need to pick up "Torchwood"

In the UK the BBC has that so no problems there.

I have no idea who will be showing Heroes Season 2 in the UK as it has started in the US but not in the UK sho that sucks.

I've got ya fanbase right here.

Loved the DTV movies though.
