I follow Scott Adkins on facebook and him/his official page posted a link to a petition for him to be cast as Iron Fist. There are about 600 signatures so far. I believe he is perfect for the role. Decent enough actor and superb martial artist. What do you guys think? I would definitely prefer for a legit martial artist to be in the role and not just a face with his stuntman.

I'd rather a superb actor and decent enough martial artist. But that video you posted is pretty badass.

It's going to be excruciating waiting for news to hit for all these projects.

Nope, but I don't see why he can't be a stunt man for it or maybe even a villain(one who doesn't need to have acting chops)

he has automatically lost. why would anyone repeat this stunt that has failed for so many others?

I wouldn't have an issue with him playing a character in the show, maybe a villain, but not Danny.

Obviously the ideal scenario would be a proven actor with martial arts experience. However, if that's not possible, it's easier to teach someone fight choreography than it is to teach them how to act. So if we have to choose between a real actor or a real martial artist, I choose a real actor.

Would Scott Adkins just go away? I'm sick and tired of hearing his name brought up for every damn superhero character out there. He can't act and looks like a damned Ferengi. I don't care how good he is at kicking people; keep him the hell away from this.

Or cast him as Frightened inmate #3 so people can't fancast him in marvel things any more

Yeah better to go with such an accomplished and great actor such as Batista.

Drax doesn't require nearly as much acting chops as Iron Fist does. And Scott Adkins doesn't fit the role at all. There is absolutely no chance of him being Iron Fist, but maybe Marvel could use him for a stunt man or even a minor villain. Thats about it.

Seriously, the guy is brought up for ****ing everything! He sucks.

Bless the guy for trying but like Ant-Manic said he's basically voted himself off as Marvel really doesn't seem to pander to people who lobby themselves for roles.
This guy is as likely to be Iron Fist as the Old Spice guy is to be Luke Cage.
Usually when you're a good enough actor the studio approaches you.
His choreography is great but like PWN3R said, we're better with superb actors than superb martial artist.

And honestly you don't use a damned arm bar in a group fight.

I remember this one guy in the Superman/Batman throwing a sh**fit a while back because no one would take Adkins seriously as an actor. He was calling us names and acting like we were all morons because we couldn't see Adkins amazing acting talent. It was hilarious.

I do hope the fight scenes are like that though.

He's like the bad version of Cumberbatch.

I'd love to have Scott Adkins as Iron Fist.

He isn't a good enough actor to carry a show like this. He would would make a decent fighting cameo villain like George St Pierre's Batroc The Leaper in Cap sequel though.

Batista is actually very effective and convincing as a swaggering mute fighting machine, or else he would not have achieved any fame in the WWE. Scott Adkins is also effective as a one-note fighting machine, actually. Unfortunately, Iron Fist is not that type of character, but Drax is. Thus, casting an action actor for a part that requires almost no dialgoue and only one facial expression - angry - is good casting. Drax. Batroc.

Casting an action actor for a character who requires a wide range of emotions, who is going to be playing a fish out of water and then fighting, occasionally, often in a face-concealing bandana, that is bad casting.

How many comics have you read with Drax?

Pretty much my fantasy cast pick. I don't think you guys are giving his acting enough credit. He has a varied 16 year acting career. Movies, tv shows, playing villains and heroes.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0012078/
Certainly has more experience than Gal Gadot, and she's our new Wonder Woman. :/
And keep in mind guys, this is a super hero tv show not Shakespearean epic. He easily has got the acting chops for martial arts super hero.

Sure, but Marvel has set the standard for great casting and I don't see why this should be different, I know people like Arrow but the lead guy is awful and I couldn't get past 3 episodes due to his acting.
Marvel is in competition with DC and they should prove their superiority in the series department.

Well there failing with Shield. Adkins could act circles around some of the people they cast in that show.

A character that barely speaks is quite hard to pull off convincingly. It requires more subtle acting like using the eyes and facial expressions to tell a story and show emotions. Drax is actually a pretty complex character. Batista needs to put in the performance of a life time.
