I think that ever since Nolan got us with the Ra's Al Ghul twist, then tried again with Talia and John Robin Blake, people have just become more convinced that someone is always secretly someone else.

With the possible GL 'hints' in the recent Squad trailer, I would hazard a guess at Hal Jordan.

If, and a massive IF, he is Dick, then that's a very brave / confident move indeed.

Don't forget Affleck gave Eastwood the role of his brother in Live By Night, which is filming now. I find that a little curious.

I don't know about any of his other roles and any speculation surrounding that. All I'm saying is
A) He is an actor on the up and up and while not all such actors necessarily have big roles in blockbusters, most do. As someone said, him as only soldier #5 would be a chance missed.
B) An undercover Dick Grayson is a character that makes sense story-wise both in the movie and in the Universe as a whole. Given a world wary Batman, they need to have a Dick Grayson somewhere.

I'm too thirsty for that level of sodium intake.

"He’s contracted for multiple films and he’s gone on record saying that people would “never see it coming” regarding his role."

Any truth to this?
I saw it on tumblr so I'm not sure about it. :funny:

I remember an interview along those lines from a while back.

I think he could be Robin because of the Batman/Killer Croc/Harley Queen/Joker connection in the comic books and cartoons and videogames, you know they are Batman characters. Like the Green Lantern suggestion just doesn't make sense to me, its like weird to me the new Green Lantern would debut in a Suicide Squad film, like uh no I don't think so.

yeah, i'd like to see an actual story/link. in this day and age, 'i heard...' just doesn't cut it for proof.

like i said earlier, i think it'd be a unique way to bring grayson into this universe, but i just can't imagine the casting of such a major role would get by places likes deadline or variety for a year or so. my guess is, he's still just a soldier, but maybe he gets an actual name.

Of course he's contracted for multiple films. Do some of you really think, if SS is successful, that they'll stop at just one movie?

Drop the sass, breh.
We don't even know if all the actual squad members are going to make it through the movie.
What reason would we have to assume that a nameless soldier would make it to a sequel?

Steve Trevor?! He's in Wonder Woman during WWII. He'll be long gone in the current DCEU.

I think he'll maybe be a member of Checkmate. Not a big time player, maybe a knight or bishop. So many to choose.

1) Stop speculating, you're all crazy, he's just a nameless soldier and nothing more.
2) Of course this nameless soldier will sign on to multiple films, duh!

I'm just about willing to guarantee he's nightwing. It's all so perfect

That wasn't sass.

They probably aren't. The team isn't called the Suicide Squad for nothing.

What reason would we have to assume that a nameless soldier would make it to a sequel?

The same reason any colorful character, regardless of identity, might make it to a sequel. Agent Coulson and General Swanwick come to mind.

Never said you couldn't speculate. I just don't think that Eastwood signing on for multiple films is evidence of him being someone from the source material. He very well could be, but I doubt it.

I don't understand what's hard to believe about the idea that Ayer might want to create original characters unique to the Suicide Squad movies.

I'd say it's Dick, post-Nightwing/Robin, posing as a "nameless soldier" for Batman the way he did in New 52 posing as an agent for Spyral.

Can anyone find the interview or source that claimed and/or confirmed that Eastwood signed on for multiple movies? I'm trying to find it, but no luck.

Honestly, at this point in Hollywood, it's part of standard contracts for comic book/superhero movies to include a multi-picture deal; ever since the first X-Men movie.

All of Fox, Sony, Marvel, WB contracts have them, even if they're not used; just like having the option of their returning in a sequel, prequel, spin-off, etc.

Also in the same stream, confirmed by Abigayle Dizon to us, Eastwood stated — “You won’t see it coming”
