Scott Porter IS Superman ?

WHAT THE F%&K????? No way in hell is this guy Superman.

Scott Porter as Superman would be an absolute disrespectful joke of a casting decision and would spell certain doom for this continued mess of a JL film.

If you would have actually met him, you would probably have a different opinion on it. Porter had an obvious passion for the DC characters. He asked me if I had read The Losers yet, and he had free DC heroclix figures to give out. His knowledge of the characters was very apparent. Casting Porter would be far from being a disrespectful joke.

I have a passion for the DC characters, does that mean I should play Superman?

Never saw Superman in him. He's a self admitted fan of The Flash plus he's got a pic of himself and Flash poster on his myspace page so i assumed like many that he was up for The Flash.

Some qoutes from old Porter interviews....

fishergirl819: X-Men or Fantastic Four?

SCOTT PORTER: X-Men. I grew up when they were making huge strides in the stories that could be told in books. X-Men teaches you to not judge a book by it's cover, and it really should be used as a learning tool to help against racism. Didn't know comics were that deep, did ya?

Monica: What are you going to be for Halloween?

SCOTT PORTER: Well, I'm not gonna be able to celebrate, but I wanted to go as the Flash this year. (Coincidentally)

rawrful: If you were a superhero, what would your superhero name be? Also, what special powers would you have?

SCOTT PORTER: Well, I'm a huge comic book nerd. There are so many favorites that I have. I would have to say Super Speed, like the Flash though.
Scott Porter: Friday Night Lights

By Jane Louise Boursaw, Nov. 2006

Scott Porter loves football! Not only is he a football player on TV, he loves playing the game in real life, too. We caught up with the star of Friday Night Lights at his home in Austin, Texas, where the series is filmed. Read on for his thoughts on life, fame, and playing Jason Street, a high school quarterback who becomes paralyzed in the first episode.

Jane: Favorite TV show (other than yours)?

Scott: My top-five list is Heroes, Lost, Smallville, Sports Center, and – this is where I'm going to show that I'm a nerd -- Justice League Unlimited. I'm a huge comic book geek. I go every Wednesday and get my new books.

Jane: Favorite comic book hero?

Scott: I'm a huge reader of X-Men, but there's a new book out called Invincible that I just love. It's from Image Comics, and it's written by Robert Kirkman.

But you aren't an actor are you?:cwink:

Physically and in regards to the looks and acting? I would say it would be a disrepectful casting decision. His interest in the DCU doesn't matter when it comes to being right for the role of Superman.

Scott wrote in his myspace headline:

"I'm Superman...or at least the internet tells me so....and we all know everything on the internet is true.."

Still think he's in the movie, though, as another character.

He changed his picture of him standing next to the Flash poster. I don't think he is in the movie at all.

Maybe because if he did get a part, he shouldn't be talking about it? He's not allowed to give anything away anymore. His Superman comment only suggests that he's not Superman.

But if he did land a role in the movie he wouldn't be talking about anything at all. And he's already revealed that he is not the Flash, that he lost out to Adam Brody. So if he's not the Flash or Superman, who else could he be? Wonder Woman?! :oldrazz:

There's more than one Flash. There are also other male characters besides Superman. Did you know?

Yea, Adam Brody and Scott Porter as two different Flashes, highly unlikely. Yes, I am quite aware there other male characters besides Superman. But the man has basically said he's not in the movie, why can't we just take him for his word?

Because he didn't actually say that?

OK, since you are so insistent that he is in the movie, tell me what role he will most likely be playing since we established he will not be Superman and he lost out Flash to Brody.

As others said I could see him as Flash but being a Superman fan for 20+ yrs and rabid Superman fan I just can't see the guy playing Superman...he might be a nice guy but so am I he just doesn't look anything like Superman...plus he is at most 6'..Supes is around the 6'4ish range not a HUGE guy but for sure someone you would notice in a crowd.

Routh and Reeve didn't look just like the comic book Supes but they were pretty damn close and both had a Superman "look"....I like Willing in SV I think he does a swell job!;)...he plays a solid Clark Kent growing up but to play Superman?hummm not sure would do better than this guy or that DJ guy.

Superman might be the hardest comic book character to cast...there is so much you have to look for...just because a guy might be said to be good looking to the eye doesn't mean he could pull off the Man of Steel!

^ Man of Steel. :oldrazz:
You'd think a rapid Superman fan could spell it. :oldrazz: :woot: :cwink:

^ Me too. I just realised you typed rabit instead of rabid. I guess we both need some sleep.

i really want this guy to get a role because he seems to be a fan- not the best reason I know!

Too bad he didn't get the role for Flash. I could immagine him and Common doing jam session like this between scenes:

In fact, I wouldn't have been surprised if a scene like this wouldn't have been an outtake shown on the DVD.
