Scream 4!!!!!

Yeah, and a thing I also noticed (I may sound foolish) but the genius of the beginning of Scream 2. With the opening playing of the first film playing out in the openign of this film yet it's an innacurate portrayal of it. Art imitating art, imitating life. Although what happened in the first was life.

Great stuff.

The only villains that made any sense were in the first film. Stu and Billy were interesting and while they were nuts, it never veered too over-the-top. The mother in the second film was pretty cheesy and don't get me started on Stu 2.0. Way too over-the-top.

Hopefully the fourth will be interesting.

Are you talking about Mickey? He is actually my favorite of the killers. His motive was pretty ingenius from a screenwriting perspective. He would be the first to blame the movies on his killings. Especially how violence in cinema was a hot topic back then. It's still a discussion today but not as heated.

Plus I just loved Olyphant's performance.

"You should really deal with your trust issues Sid: I mean, poor Derek. He's completely innocent and such a nice boy too. He's bright and funny and handsome. Decent singing voice. And he was going to be a doctor. This is just the kinda boy you'd like to take home to mom. If you had a mom."

I want these on Blu. They better do all 4 when the 4th is released this October?

You definitely can't top the 1st film... that's for sure. Is it true that Scream 4 is the beginning of a new trilogy?

I have no doubt we'll get Scream 5 and 6 over the next couple of years. The series for sure is making a big comeback.

However the person I've been in contact with from Pittsburgh that saw the movie did say, just like each installment before it, Scream 4 is left closed off and does not automatically scream (pun intended) ''SCREAM 5 IS COMING!"

Man, dude, I don't know why you would want to get spoiled about all that stuff. The best experience is seeign it for the first time in the theater and not knowing what's going to happen.

I was thinking this too. I figured around when the fourth movie is released. But we haven't heard anything yet. I definitely would love to buy the first two films on Blu Ray.

I'm not spoiled for a single damn thing in the film, actually. I don't want to be in fact. It was I who mentioned spoiler capping anything major that came out of the test screening.

Oh, my mistake then. That's good. It's just i thought with the guy you had contact with from the screenign was an indication of that.

I just can't imagine why people would want to be spoiled. It's an 11 year surprise.

I can never understand why people hate on 2. Honestly. I think if 1 was rated a 10, 2 would only be a 9.5.

3? Yeah. I can understand hate on that. It was "meh". Not BAD by any sort, but comparable to the other 2 it's meh.

I just hate how 2-3 get lumped together when it should really be 1-2 and 3 stands alone in the hate column.

And also - people assume that 4 will suck because of 3 are sadly misinformed about the whole Williamson thing. Apparently people don't really *get it* how much screenwriters influence the final product. Yes, the cast, the director, the DP the composer are all pretty important. But they all aren't the people with the control over pure creation. They only build off of what the writer has given them.

At least, that's just my take.

Yeah, I don't get the dislike for the second either. It's just as good as the first in ways. It's hard for me to decide whcih one I prefer. 3 was the step down. It was just as clever and engaging as the first.

Does anyone know what was suppose to happen in Williamson's Scream 3? Because he even said while writing the second he knew there would be a third. It's a shame he didn't end up writing it.

I'm pretty sure Roman was still the killer - only Angelina was his partner, or it was Jennifer. Not entirely sure.

Either way, WHAT happened, I think, was the same, HOW it happened is prolly what differed.

That's what Williamson was good at... he knew, it was all about - execution.

;)

But in the original 2 script, Sid gets killed...

It was pretty much Angelina or Tyson as the other killer with Roman...

Angelina was even the second killer until the final moment on the set when they filmed the finale. It's why she gets stabbed once and then dragged away by Roman. But her motive was even more dumb than Roman's really.

Sid: "You're never going to get away with this"

Mrs Loomis: "Of course I will. Everything's traceable back to Mickey, including the Cop gun he used to kill everybody. But lets just suppose that YOU had gotten hold of the other Cop's gun. And you chased Mickey, and there was a big shoot out and a big scuffle, and you SHOT Mickey. Killed Mickey dead! But not before he got off ONE shot at you. Sooooo have I covered everything? Are there any questions? Any comments? You know what though, who give a flying F**K anyway? Let 'em try and track down the second possible killer. Debbie Salt doesn't exist"

Sid: "You're as crazy as your son was"

Mrs Loomis: "What did you just say? Was that a negative disparaging remark about my son? About my Billy?"

Sid: "No, Billy was a good boy. Billy was perfect. You did a bang up job, Mrs Loomis"

Mrs Loomis: "It's not wise to patronize me with a gun, Sidney. Randy spoke poorly of Billy and I got a little knife happy. I was a GOOD mother. You know what makes me SICK? I am sick to death of people saying that it's all the parents' fault. That it all starts with the family. If you want to blame someone, why don't you blame your MOTHER!!! She's the one who stole my husband and broke up my family. And then you took my SON!!!! You don't know what it is to be a mother. To raise a child, and teach him...and guide him..."

Sid: "And ABANDON him!"

That's my favorite exchange between Sid and any of the killers. Class.

I love that, but I actually think my favorite exchange is this one, despite how brief it is:

Sid: You're forgetting one thing about Billy Loomis...
Mickey: Oh yeah? What's that?
Sid: I ****ing killed him.

And then she smacks him with the greek letters and they fight. Classic Sidney badass moment for me.

I really hope Sid is still wearing the letters in S4. It was one of the things I really enjoyed seeing in S3.

Scream 2 is an excellent horror movie. It doesn't get much better than having Laurie Metcalf as the killer!

I read that one. That's when Kruger was the writer. And that early script sucked. Cotton wasn't even in it.
