Scream 4!!!!!

That wasn't directed at you Sawyer, but the others who were sprouting the ''OH I JUST THINK NEVE IS HAPPY TO BE WORKING AGAIN!" as if she's NOT been working. She has a successful career in indie cinema. That's what she wants. Scream is her franchise where she gets to just have silly fun.

I said this a few months ago so I'll repeat it now. Only because I noticed something new.

Scream 4 seems to have a heavy influence on Hitchcock.

Patty = Partricia is the name of Alfred Hitchcock's daughter.
Marnie = The title of a Hitchcock film.
Rebecca = Another title of a Hitchcock film. She was originally named Bette in the film, almost certain it's alluding to All About Eve with Bette Davis who play a star with a jealous assistant.

Apparently Jill and Olivia live right next door to each other and Kirby and Jill watch Olivia meet her end from Jill's bedroom window (Rear Window anyone? Another Hitchock film).

Also read the plot of Tenebre from Dario Argento. It's a bout an author on a publicity tour in Rome who finds himself targeted by a killer who's copycating the events of his latest novel. Sidney Prescott is an author in the new film and goes on a publicity tour in Woodsboro.....and now people start getting killed again.

And now I just noticed THIS :

Back to Rear Window. Maybe these two creepers are the killers (or one of them is and the other doesn't know) who are obsessed with recreating Hitchcock in Woodsboro.....or it could be something completely different and I'm just crazy haha.

It seems expected but they are good candidates. I'm just expecting something more shocking.

I still think the partner if there is one, won't even get away. Craven said the film is a closed book at the end that can stand alone. It can't stand alone if you have the killer saying stuff like ''Well you got me, but there is still another!"

I wouldn't be something blatant but another silent partner could come into the fray much like roman's quasi -involvement.

I know I've said it before but...Rory Culkin seriously needs a haircut.

I love his look. Especially for the Scream films. In my opinion, he was perfect casting. Very underrated actor. And I just don't think his whole look would be complete in this film without the long hair. We already have 2 other guys with short hair.

And I'll also add I LOVE hayden with her short hair. Goes against the whole cliche of the hot blonde friend who's skinny, tall, has big **** and long blonde hair.

Am I the only one who thinks Robbie..............

Looks so much like Cotton Weary? Could there be a relation maybe??

My god. He actually does now that you mention it.

Neve LOVES small indie films. Scream was NEVER her type of movie. So no, she's not just passing it off as a labor of love. She absolutely HATED the idea of a Scream 4.

A career is not judged based on huge tentpole/blockbuster franchises.

Neve isn't ashamed to be a part of Scream history. And she seems very happy to be a part of Scream 4.

She was happy during Scream 1-3, but after Scream 3 every interview she said 4 was a no go for her.

Basically what sold her on this one was the script. There was an initial period where she had even turned them down and they had a script without her with just Gale and Dewey. Neve loves being in the Scream series, but it's not her thing AT all. Neve's always been an indie actress at her.

She didn't even want to do Scream 3 initially. But they ended up getting her to do it on the condition that she only film for 20 days or something. It's why she's not in the movie as much as the previous two.

I thought it was pretty well known that Neve Campbell strongly opposed any more Scream movies...

In fact, that's incorrect. She has the most amount of screentime in that movie over Gale and Dewey and not the much of a difference in screen time in general from her usual outings this is from someone timing the amount of time the main trio was on screen in the original trilogy:

SCREAM

Sidney: 41 minutes & 44 seconds
Gale: 14 minutes & 09 seconds
Dewey: 10 minutes & 59 seconds
SCREAM 2

Sidney: 40 minutes & 02 seconds
Gale: 22 minutes & 19 seconds
Dewey: 16 minutes and 25 seconds
SCREAM 3

Sidney: 33 minutes & 06 seconds
Gale: 28 minutes & 19 seconds
Dewey: 26 minutes & 43 seconds

So as you see the shortened schedule, which wasn't because she DIDN'T want to do Scream 3, it was because she was filming another film at the same time (it's why her hair in Scream 3 is a wig/hair extensions, because her hair had streaks in it for the other film.), only cut her general amount of screen time by about 10 minutes, it's not really a huge deal.

Then it's not incorrect, it's correct. She has got less screen time than the previous two. So I'm totally right there. And nobody even mentioned anything about Gale or Dewey having more screen time than her in it, did they?

I stand corrected on the filming schedule.

But the 10 minutes is a big deal. Especially when you look at your stats and see Dewey only had that in Scream 1. That's how much less screen time she had. Quite significant.

She lost 10 minutes. And not even that if you subtract her amount of screen time from Scream 2/Scream 3. Dewey had ALL of 10 MINUTES in Scream 1. Nothing more. Ten minutes total. She had 33 minutes in Scream 3, which if you look at Scream 2 is only a lose of 7 minutes 4 seconds. NOT a huge deal at all.

Now if Sidney had like 20 minutes in total in Scream 3, I could maybe see a big deal, but you're making a mountain of an anthill.

Yes, she lost 10 minutes. 10 minutes is a lot in a movie less than two hours long. Coupled with the fact that her character spends the first half of the movie out of action sitting in a house in the mountains while all the action is happening on the Stab set in Hollywood. You feel the impact of that ten minute loss, because Sid's presence is less felt in the movie.

Gale and Dewey drive most of the plot going around with Parker Posey doing their detective work.

She lost 7 minutes! 7! Your Scream 3 hatred bias is showing hard. :p

LOL, I swear it's not bias. It's facts. Sidney is genuinely out of action for most of Scream 3. Her lessened screen time is felt. That and coupled with how her character is under used. When everything kicks off with the murders, there's about four or five dead bodies piled up before Sid even gets to Hollywood. And even then she spends most of her time hanging around the Cop station with Kincaid. She only gets one run in with Ghostface before the finale.

In Scream 1 and 2, she had at least two run ins with him before the final showdown.

I'm just flabbergasted that someone out there actually clocked the screentime of the three leads in the "Scream" trilogy.

:funny:

It's not the first time screen time has been clocked in movies. Someone did it for the fight scenes in the Spider-Man trilogy once.

Scream 1: Attacked at her house, attacked at the school (very brief)
Scream 2: Attacked at the sorority house, attempted attack on the theater stage (very brief, possibly fake.)
Scream 3: Called by the killer, attacked on the Woodsboro set.

In my opinion it balances out. Also the killer has killed what 2 IMPORTANT (Meaning not Christine.) people I believe before he calls Sidney to tell her what he's doing? Cotton and Sarah? I think it's after that call that the explosion at Jennifer Jolie's house goes down.

Scream 1: Attacked at her house, attacked at the school, the whole long chase with Ghostface at Stu's house.

Scream 2: Attacked at Sorority house, theater stage, Cop car

Scream 3: Stab 3 set, Mansion

Calls don't count.

Three people: Cotton, Christine, and Sara. Then the house explosion.

Calls actually kind of do count, but whatever. Let that bias show. Let it run free! It looks good on you. :cwink:
