You make some great points.

I'm just wondering if Morrison wants to be a star or not. He's with a woman who constantly put him in bad situations at work. He needs to decide if wants to be a big time player.

CM Punk Discusses The Rock, Possible WrestleMania Opponents and More

By Marc Middleton

- WWE Champion CM Punk spoke with Jon Robinson of ESPN.com over the Survivor Series weekend. Here are some highlights:

Jon Robinson: Wrestlemania, it's The Rock versus John Cena. What do you think about him coming back and getting the main event spot when most of what we've seen of him throughout the year has been via satellite?

CM Punk: I don't know if it's some weird vanity project for him to come back and fraternize with us little people, but I appreciate it. If it puts more money in my bank account, that's cool, even if I'm not a money guy. I'm very passionate about wrestling. This is what I do. I'm not leaving to go film movies. It's just me and the rest of the crew, the men and women of the WWE who are on the road constantly, and I'm not the only one who is, I don't want to say bitter, because I get it, it's a business move where Dwayne comes in and people buy some pay-per-views, but it's the attitude that gets to me. He's very bourgeoisie Hollywood, and I just wish he would say hello to people backstage and not act like he was above everybody. Cena doesn't act like that. Cena sits and talks and fraternizes with everybody, but Dwayne just can't be bothered. Then again, I don't know if anyone really wants to hang out with him. He was in the "Tooth Fairy." If he's so good at what he does, why doesn't he impart some of that knowledge to the young guys and help out? I guess I'm just trying to figure out why he came back. I don't think it's money. I think he's OK money-wise, so I don't know.

Jon Robinson: Looking ahead to Wrestlemania, there's Rock versus John Cena, but I'd actually rather see Austin versus Punk. Will we ever get a CM Punk versus Steve Austin main event?

CM Punk: I would rather see Austin/Punk, too. I would love to poll everybody who is going to order Wrestlemania and ask them, what would you rather see. Would you rather see Cena/Rock or Stone Cold/CM Punk? I'm biased, obviously, but I think we'd have a landslide victory. It's up to Steve, really, but he's certainly not going to do it this year. Honestly, if Steve Austin comes back to wrestling, he should be the main event of Wrestlemania, but he can't right now, because Dwayne is. I think Dwayne would get a little butt hurt if Steve took his Mania spot, but then at least Dwayne would understand how the rest of us feel. So I know that's not going to happen this year, but I would love for it to happen next year. I don't want to say it's a goal of mine, but it's definitely something that would be challenging and fun to do. I think Austin was the best worker for many, many, many, many, many years, and that's even pre-Stone Cold. "Stunning" Steve Austin was amazing.

Jon Robinson: So with Austin out this year, who would you like to face? Chris Jericho? The Undertaker?

CM Punk: To me, this is the $65,000 question ... or is it $64,000? It's tough to tell with inflation. Anyway, that's the thing, I guess I've finally broken through and now I'm this newly minted main event, top WWE wrestler and everybody is wondering what I'm doing for Wrestlemania. This has been the story of my life. Every year leading up to Wrestlemania, I don't even know if I'm going to be on the show. I remember I had to pitch in order to get me and Rey (Mysterio) for Wrestlemania. It's not like they were coming to me, so I went to Rey, asked him if he knew what he was doing, and came to him with my idea. He loved it, so we ran with it. So every year, I'm sitting here crossing my fingers that I'm in Wrestlemania. Even last year, I was on Wrestlemania because Randy (Orton) needed somebody to wrestle, let's be honest. This is the first year where it really seems like, oh crap, we actually have to do something with Punk at Wrestlemania and it has to be high-caliber, it has to be big.

So who am I going to wrestle? I don't know. I get a lot of, "You should wrestle Undertaker." I would love to. That would kick ass. He is one of my favorite guys to work with. I get a lot of, "It's going to be you and Jericho," but you know what, he doesn't work here. Obviously, he could come back between now and then, but who knows.

The guys at PWInsider discussed the interview the other day and apparently Punk truly feels that way about the Rock, as do a few other guys.

It seems as though The Rock has displayed a but of an ego that has rubbed workers backstage the wrong way

Update on The Undertaker's Health & Return, Officials Pressured by Iron

Posted by Marc Middleton on 11/23/2011

- It's said that independent wrestler Gregory Iron, who has cerebral palsy, has some people unhappy in WWE after his recent Twitter campaign to get him a spot in the 2012 Royal Rumble. Because of Iron's petition, some in the company feel pressured to not anger the fans who sign his petition, since WWE is so serious about Twitter these days, and they don't want to come off as cruel to someone with a disability.

- The Undertaker has had another hip and shoulder operation since he's been away from the ring. Last year around this time there was doubt in Taker's health for WrestleMania but the latest word is that he's recovered well and is ready for Miami.

We don't know yet who Taker's opponent is for WrestleMania 28 but word is that it has already been decided on. WWE officials have reportedly decided on the top three WrestleMania matches, including John Cena vs. The Rock, and Taker's match will be the #2 top match on the card.

WWE Looking for Announcers, WWE's Talks with Miss USA, Ross at RAW, More

Posted by Marc Middleton on 11/23/2011

- Jim Ross was reportedly backstage at Monday's RAW Supershow from Hershey, Pennsylvania and brought in for an angle. As noted before, Monday's RAW was re-written several times and the segment with Ross was nixed.

- As noted before, former Miss USA and Tough Enough contestant Rima Fakih revealed that she's recently been in talks with Triple H. Apparently WWE and Fakih are talking about doing a TV project together for the new Network.

- WWE has been doing more announcer tryouts lately. Apparently they're looking at a former Superstar to bring in for commentary.

- Some of the WWE Superstars who attended Mick Foley's comedy show in New York City after Survivor Series were Zack Ryder, John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler.

Regarding Foley's status within WWE, producer Brian Gewirtz is a big supporter and feels Foley is creative and a good performer. It's said that Triple H always buries Foley, thinking he doesn't look tough enough and people can't take him serious in the ring.

One Idea Vince Has for the WWE Network, Running Joke Backstage, More

Posted by Marc Middleton on 11/23/2011

- Vince McMahon is looking to brand the WWE Network with something along the lines of "The Most Interactive Network on TV." The idea is to have programming that keeps people in front of their computers, phones and other devices giving feedback. It was described by a source that Vince has an idea of making the network into a "constant Cyber Sunday" where fans can vote on various things.

- There's a running joke going around WWE that having good matches, good interviews or getting over with the fans doesn't matter if you're a new guy because the way to get a push is to be entertaining on Twitter and hope Vince hears about it.

- On a related note, Vince reportedly is wanting certain Superstars to change their Twitter usernames. Dolph Ziggler's name was mentioned because his name is @HEELZiggler and heel is apparently one of the terms Vince doesn't want there.

Backstage News on DiBiase's Push, Goldust vs. Cody Being Considered, More

Posted by Marc Middleton on 11/23/2011

- WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin will be filming a movie with Steven Segal soon.

- WWE's recent European tour drew 85,000 total fans over 12 shows, generated $5.5 million in ticket sales and $1.5 million in merchandise sales - or $17.65 per fan.

- As noted before, Goldust has been campaigning for a WrestleMania 28 Intercontinental Title vs. Career Match against his brother Cody Rhodes. Word from WWE sources is that the idea is at least being considered by officials.

- Vince McMahon has given the nod to Ted DiBiase and he will be getting pushed. McMahon felt DiBiase should be rewarded for his "DiBiase Posse" tailgating parties with fans. The idea with DiBiase and Zack Ryder is to reward those who come up with original ideas to get over.

I bet John Morrison's kicking himself right now.

"Wow, I should have chosen the barbecue and pickup truck instead of the crazy diseased ****e. Oh well, it's going to work out for me either way, right?"

- On a related note, Vince reportedly is wanting certain Superstars to change their Twitter usernames. Dolph Ziggler's name was mentioned because his name is @HEELZiggler and heel is apparently one of the terms Vince doesn't want there.
Oh, for ****'s sake.

Sunny's a c*nt. Even if Trashly didn't kiss her a** Sunny deserved disrespect because thats all she does to others. that shoot where she made fun of HBK for his thinning hair and lazy eye or whatever it is just reeked of someone who is full of herself. Then she goes on to complain about how Michael's wife is in "her" (Sunny's) dreamhouse. Jealous of another woman (after she and Michaels split up) all the while she was sleeping around on Candido.

Tammy is a crack****e hypocrite who is very ungrateful despite the second, third and fourth chances and help she has gotten. She also seems to live in fantasy land like a lot of bitter former stars.

TNA's main event is already crowded with guys because they only have one major show. Morrison would quickly get lost in the shuffle. He doesn't even have as much star power as Foley or Booker when they came to TNA so it would be hard to move up.
The idea is for him to have the X Division built around him, big whoop, that division has been dead for ages and the cancerous twosome that Dixie has resigned have no interest in letting it be showcased. So JoMo can look forward to hundred dollar pay-offs and matches with guys no one outside the Impact Zone even knows the names of.

I agree Rock could still draw almost as huge with a handful of people in WWE. At this stage Rock is THE draw. By himself he can get attention that Cena couldn't by himself. The only reason i say go ahead with Cena is that he's the closest thing to being a top star even though he's nowhere close to the Rock or Austin in terms of star power.

Plus they've already put time into building to Cena vs Rock so its a bit late to change it now. But Rock vs Cena isn't nearly as big a deal as WWE promotes it to be and the build hasn't been that great anyway because Rocks hardly there and Cena still has his spinner tampon in.

Punk vs Rock would be a more entertaining program all around but like you said Punk doesn't have the credibility yet. And Michaels vs Rock would be a guaranteed classic.
You're right and of course there is no one else they could have used except maybe Orton, as Taker and Triple H aren't going to basically play third wheel for Rock's glory hogging.

At this juncture USED is the key word, Cena is being used as the only suitable foil to get some money out of The Rock coming back, because it's not going to do anything for him. Rock likened it to him vs Hogan but this is not the same, Hogan had the nostalgia factor on the night but Rock was mighty over in the build up, was booked as a man and mega star and won the match. Cena is being booked as a chump and winning isn't going to suddenly make those that hate him respect and like him, if anything he's going to be hated more if he wins.

Yea I can't believe Morrison either.I mean there must be someone around him family, friends or someone in the locker room that can pull him aside and make him see the true Melina.

Vets have tried to help him, the guy is lovesick by the sound of things, even though her recent Twitter stuff sounded like they had split.

DVD 1: How to not let a broken neck and fused vertebrae keep you from your normal intensive exercise regimen.

DVD 2: Shed 350 pounds of useless weight by convincing him to sign with WCW.

DVD 3: Sparkly silver workout vests and white leather chaps are for straight men now too.

:lmao:

lets see at that time big dave was the top dog was the world champ and in big with HHH

morrison at that time was mid card and was a tag wrestler

standing up for himself likely would of got him fired lol

some guys are smart enough to know when to pick there battles

morrison was still nitro at that time

morrison is not booker t

That's irrelevant in the locker room, Taker runs the show back there and he, Booker, JBL and Benoit at the time were all telling Morrison he needed to handle his business or look weak in front of the boys. Whether he got his ass kicked or not he needed to step up to Batista.

The guys at PWInsider discussed the interview the other day and apparently Punk truly feels that way about the Rock, as do a few other guys.

It seems as though The Rock has displayed a but of an ego that has rubbed workers backstage the wrong way

I've never been much of a Rock fan bar his 98 heel run that bled into the first quarter of 99, but I always respected the fact that word was he was not like mid 90's HBK, basically 4 decades Hogan or 2000's Triple H. He didn't play politics and he was all about the team and treat the lower guys on the roster the same as anyone else.

Seems like being a charismatic version of Statham in b movie action films has gone to his head.

- The UndIs this the guy that Punk put over on that indie show while he was gone for those 2 weeks in the summer?

We don't know yet who Taker's opponent is for WrestleMania 28 but word is that it has already been decided on. WWE officials have reportedly decided on the top three WrestleMania matches, including John Cena vs. The Rock, and Taker's match will be the #2 top match on the card.

"i've got a bad feeling about this"

- On a related note, Vince reportedly is wanting certain Superstars to change their Twitter usernames. Dolph Ziggler's name was mentioned because his name is @HEELZiggler and heel is apparently one of the terms Vince doesn't want there.

If Vince is for real about this I'm surprised Ziggler went out there the other night with #Heel on his trunks. Surely Vince gets that a certain portion of his audience eat that stuff up, and those that don't get it don't care one way or the other, it's just a twitter SN to them.

In principal I agree with this, I mean back in the day Christian was actually punished for getting himself over. :whatever: However the party posse idea is so cheesy and I don't see Dibiase ever getting over like Ryder has.

That guy with Cerebal Palsy will probably be mad fun of by Michael Cole and the WWE will get major heat for it.

Some shots in the promo show him with the mask off, some with the towel over his head and of course with both mask and towel on his head.

It's very all over the place.

And it ends with the mask burning

It seems the promo was just highlighting different aspects of the character throughout his career-glove, mask, towel etc

As much as I would love to see the mask back on, it wouldn't be really effective as it once was.

Why am I not surprised? :csad:

Good grief! :csad:

I really do not want to see him completely broken down and pieced together like Hogan. Taker is too good for that.

if he can still go i'd say one more match, but damn, it sucks taker is so broken down
:(

Well, Taker is probably not facing Barrett if it's the second most important match on the card.

The guys at PWInsider discussed the interview the other day and apparently Punk truly feels that way about the Rock, as do a few other guys.

It seems as though The Rock has displayed a but of an ego that has rubbed workers backstage the wrong way

At first I thought maybe it was because Rock doesn't know a lot of the guys currently there. Maybe he's taking a while getting back into the backstage scene because he's an outsider to most of them.

But if he means what he says about helping out he should talk a little to all guys there now and get to know them so he can impart some wisdom. At least be part of the team instead of pulling a Jerry Lawler and going right to his private dressing room. At least Lawler had the excuse of being owner/booker in Memphis so he was always kind of cut off from the boys in a way.

if Rock 's really not talking to anyone it just seems he's acting like hes above everyone else. I'd expect better of him especially since certain people brushed him off when he started and others were friendly to him.

At the end this is all going to be a one time only surge for WWE. Rocks not going to stick around and Cena isn't going to benefit much win or lose. Once its over it'll be back to business, buyrates, and ratings as usual. Thats my big problem with all this. it does nothing for WWE long term. Its not going to get WWE any more public awareness or long term viewers.

For everything Vince is paying The Rock he needs to get the most out of him. Hell Rock gave The Hurricane a better rub before he left than he gave Miz and Truth now that he's back.

In principal I agree with this, I mean back in the day Christian was actually punished for getting himself over. :whatever: However the party posse idea is so cheesy and I don't see Dibiase ever getting over like Ryder has.

It feels kind of like Vince taking credit for coming up with ideas Ryder was the first to use. Now he's trying to do it with everyone. Ryders character was suited to this kind of stuff. Ted Jr's isn't. I give an A for effort but it definitely comes off as corny and trying too hard. Seems like they are trying to portray him as an average guy who isn't concerned about his dads money anymore. But again he doesn't have the everyman charisma for that. At least not on screen.

Good grief! :csad:

I really do not want to see him completely broken down and pieced together like Hogan. Taker is too good for that.

The old boy really should retire after WM28. Sounds like he's basically gone on the Hogan schedule of 05-07 and that means he can't do much of anything unless he has a really good opponent. I don't want to see Taker like that. he should have one last match and hang it up before he does become just like Hogan physically.

Id say go with Taker vs Jericho since Jericho can look good losing and carry Taker to a good match. Taker/Jericho, HHH/Punk, and Rock/Cena sounds like a decent card.

They trying out for the next Mad Max movie? :funny:

It's either Orton or Triple H.

I think Punk is facing Jericho.

Zero desire to see HHH and Taker roll around outside the ring again for 20 minutes to kill time. No need to waste time on a match up we've already seen twice and isn't going to be better..

I'd only want to see Undertaker face Orton if he's going to put him over. Otherwise its just another waste.

If he's going to win at Mania he may as well wrestle someone who can afford to take a loss like that in this stage in their career and carry on like it was nothing.

I agree, but who else could it be? We're talking #2 match on the card here. Unless Vince is willing to give that spot to a less established guy.

Orton, a returning Batista, those are really the only two guys I can think of on that level of stardom. Maybe Punk if he's not busy with something else.

It very well could be HHH but God I hope not. It almost rather see anything else besides HHH vs Taker again at WM.

It's either Orton or Triple H.

I think Punk is facing Jericho.

Well my worry is twofold.

1) It could be Punk, if it is then Punk is jobbing which is not a good way to book Punk in his first Mania as a legit top guy.

2) It's not Punk so therefore he and the title are being pushed into 3rd spot thus devaluing both, and it will mean a rematch between Taker and Triple H or God forbid another Taker vs Kane snorefest.

I think with all the injuries Taker is due to bow out, so he will (wrongly IMO) go out 20-0, so this streak match should be a young gun trying to notch his belt and who will get the rub simply by hanging with Taker at Mania. Cody or Ziggler would be my choice.

Personally I think Jericho should wrestle Orton as he is the kayfabe reason Jericho has not been seen for 18 months.

At the end this is all going to be a one time only surge for WWE. Rocks not going to stick around and Cena isn't going to benefit much win or lose. Exactly, it's like a junkie getting a quick hit fix, it serves no long term purpose because it's not going to benefit a guy who is there week in and week out trying to draw for the company. It's going to pop a couple of buyrates and leave their main guy looking even weaker in the eyes of the male demo than he already does.

It feels kind of like Vince taking credit for coming up with ideas Ryder was the first to use. Now he's trying to do it with everyone. Ryders character was suited to this kind of stuff. He's gotten obsessed with this social media thing and as always he gets the tunnel view that one size fits all, because it worked for one guy it'll work for every guy, and it wont.

They trying out for the next Mad Max movie? :funny:

I'd buy a ticket! :awesome:

I think the WWE is overrjumping on this Twitter and social media thing as well.....it all seems very directionless lately....except for a couple things, Like Punk and Ryder....everything else is just kind of wandering

i hate when it tells u what is trending on twitter during a match

I don't mind the onscreen graphics telling us what's trending. I'd wish they'd stick to that rather than have Michael Cole giving us Twitter updates through his commentary, and telling us what # to use, which annoys me.
