The Dark Knight Script Review coming soon!!!

It's hard for me to believe that there is no script, or atleast part of the script. As far back as it was when Goyer wrote the treatment and as far back as it was when it was confirmed that Johnathan Nolan was writing the script, there has to be something.

My guess is that Nolan is keeping this one extra secret. And for all we know, Roven could be pulling our legs in order to stray desperate fan boys away from trying to steal the script.

No, Smith wrote an entire script.Treatments are usually only a few pages from what i've read.

That depends on the type of treatment. Most treatments are 50-60 pages (in prose form, not "studio format" like a normal screenplay), sometimes more, sometimes less. Now there is also another type of treatment though that is only a few pages, but that is usually used when you are pitchnig the story to a studio or someone and have to keep it concise. If they did review a treatment, I doubt it would be the small 3 page pitch, it would probably be the longer one.

I still have a feeling that LR will get atleast get the script 1st draft around the time of the prestige, I think we won't hear anything else about it until around the time production starts. Atleast that is the vibe I get from what EL Mayimbe wrote to me

why do they do that? 1st they announce a script review and then...

Well that's quite a turn-around, considering they previously gloated about having the script and doing a review.

Sounds to me like WB had a little chat with them about doing so, and are now just echoing the company line...

Really. They like to keep us hanging like dogs salivating for dinner...

"We've got a script review for TDK coming, but you aren't going to see it anytime soon." :down

I felt the same way. They probably screwed themselves. Either that, or they're just hyping everything up. But it's weird that in the 'HItman' review, the guy didnt even mention anything about Batman. Nothing. That worries me..

Honestly, I would prefer them to NOT tell us anything about the script, and then release the review to the public. Even if WB shuts them out, we get to have a review for a brief time.

What they mean with there´s no script is probably there´s no shooting script. But at least early drafts of the script most certainly exist already, LR is probably reviewing an early draft.

that's what I'm thinking too.

Remember, as a producer, you're job is to lie and water things down. For some reason, some people dont' get that. So in other words, if Roven says there's no script, then in reality there is one. That's Hollywood. What's new?

I think an outline is about 4-5 pages, and then a treatment is everything without the dialogue, then teh script.

I find hard to believe that after 6 months since J. Nolan was hired there's no script. There's at least a 1st draft, if not more...

EDIT: I've been thinking about this... maybe the Nolans are still tossing around ideas and aren't going to get into Batman until they finish the build up for The Prestige. Basically this would mean that they have everything done in their heads... typing it up being the only thing remaining.

dont forget hype the project to the high heavens until the expectations are imposible to reach.

Where in the hell is this script review! Did Mayimbe respond to anyone with an update on when he might post it?

I've been wondering that myself lately. Most people seem to have forgotten about it. I'll bet they're not allowed to print it due to legal reasons.

I know Harry squashed one of the AICN scoopers review of the treatment for some unknown reason ... it's possible LR did the same.

These people are well trained what to say in public but no doubt they got loads of intel. on the Batman round table.

That's my belief too.

But hell we'll get something soon enough, and this latest bit from Nolan has me giddy like a school girl.
