SDCC Hall H Predictions?

Why wouldn't they be? Those three films alone are something to remind people of and chances are they'd have an update on other movies.

I'm sure they will be, I was just speculating on what they might present. Feige only goes if they have stuff to present and blow us away with

You guys think Marvel Studios will be there next year? I'm guessing they'd promote Ragnarok, Infinity War, Black Panther. Homecoming and Guardians 2 will already be out

D23 is July 14-16 (the weekend before SDCC). Like they did in 2015, I'd expect Marvel to present at D23 and skip SDCC.

The D23 Expo will be held in Anaheim in July of next year. Any Marvel Studios reveals will likely take place there. (I see Willie got there first!).

Marvel's Phase 3 slate is so overwhelming that it might justify them going to both D23 as well as SDCC next year. They can use D23 to primarily promote Ragnarok and Black Panther while rolling out the first look at Infinity War with the entire cast at SDCC.

Yep, forgot about D23. I'd expect them to be there and I'm not so sure they'll be at SDCC

Might not be as big next year, Marvel tend to save the big stuff for D23 which happens every second year, as D23 is a Disney exclusive event.

Fans convinced themselves we might get Fantastic Four news because of phony BS internet rumors.

Fans convinced themselves the FF are coming back because there is no possible scenario by which FOX puts an FF film into theaters without losing at least another $50 million. And the idea that Disney - DISNEY! - handed over additional IP rights to a competitor in exchange for a minority stake in "Legion" and the new FOX mutant show makes absolutely no sense.

Disney didn't hand over anything. These shows are still being billed as Marvel co-productions.

Just because a TV deal was worked out between Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox TV doesn't mean anything was exchanged for Fantastic Four.

Everyone is automatically assuming because a deal was worked out over X-Men TV shows, a property which Fox still has all the film rights to, something must have changed hands for Fantastic Four. When there is literally no factual evidence of this at all.

All we've seen are some vague and scattered rumored reports with no actual facts or legitimate sources. As I pointed out earlier, one was already deleted.

Why the heck would Disney/Marvel agree to a FOX co-production when they can simply go it alone and keep all the money themselves? X-Men tie in programs also strengthen FOX's hold over a Disney owned IP, making it less likely that the franchise will ever revert to the Mouse.

Is the most powerful company in entertainment that desperate for the Murdoch's to like them that they would enter into a TV arrangement that greatly benefits FOX and ask for nothing in exchange? And why wouldn't FOX be more than happy to release a franchise that hasn't made them a dime in well over a decade? They are going to cling like grim death to the franchise for - reasons?

For those of us who have been paying attention the idea that the FF are either back at Marvel or on the way makes perfect sense.

Money and more Marvel branding.

If a studio hands over a franchise to a competitor that they are able to transform into a successful franchise, that ticks off shareholders and it's embarrassing to them. It's foolish to think Fox would be more than happy to give over Fantastic Four.

Fox never made a dime off Watchman, a property they had the rights to film into a movie before. They never made a movie. Then it got turned into a movie by Warner Bros., and they sued them over it.

I have been paying attention. And there's still no proof or facts to back it up.

The money is garbage compared to what they could make with reverted character rights. And why would Marvel need additional branding? They already have extraordinarily high international name recognition.

Well, if they can't make another FF movie without blowing another large chunk of the Murdoch fortune, what are the options? Wait it out and let them go for nothing or get something now. What ticks of shareholders is companies making foolish financial decisions based on nothing but pure ego.

FOX was reimbursed for prior investment and gave up any ownership rights. Sounds like the perfect template for an FF deal.

You are living in a fantasy world Zarex. The movie business doesn't work this way. It doesn't work in the way of Fox as a collective thinking, "Well you know what guys? We had our chances with Fantastic Four and we couldn't make it work. We've lost so much on this franchise that it's not worth pursuing anymore. Even if we did it again, we'd probably lose more money. I think the happiest ending for everyone here is if we just let the rights revert back to Disney. We lose no more money. Disney is happy. Comic book fans are happy. Everyone's happy."

That's not how this works, and that's not how this is going to play out.

Just keep in mind this is the same company that refused to share character rights with Disney in order to receive an extension on the Daredevil deadline.

The way I see it, Fox will posture with the franchise and keep it under their umbrella until the last possible moment. Either that or Disney gives them some amazing pot of gold that convinces them to return Fantastic Four. That's my prediction.

Either way, all the Hall H predictions were wrong. No countdown timer to announce Fantastic Four from Marvel Studios.

Didn't they only go this year because there was no D23 expo?

Marvel attended both D23 and SDCC in 2013. 2011 and 2015 were the only years they didn't attend SDCC in favor of D23. I think they have so much to promote with Phase 3 that they should take full advantage and go to both next year.

I would like it if Marvel Studios left Comic-Con all together next year.

Comic-Con International is out of control, poorly run and over-crowded.

It's with the 2015 D23 that Disney seems to want to focus on that at the expense of Comic Con though, so that Marvel were at both before doesn't necessarily mean as much. Other than that it's a shame for those that go to Comic Con it sounds like D23 is a better run event.

Oh please. Absolutely no one is saying FOX should release the rights early without compensation. But you know this already. In my fantasy world FOX and Disney are both rational actors, for-profit corporations that will (or have) make mutually beneficial agreements on behalf of their shareholders. Those same FOX shareholders are going to be mighty steamed if FOX hands them over for nothing, as detailed in your "real world" scenario.

Just keep in mind this is the same company that refused to share character rights with Disney in order to receive an extension on the Daredevil deadline.

I did keep that in mind. FOX came out looking like chumps.

So the DD scenario all over again? Cause it worked out so well the last time?

Either way, all the Hall H predictions were wrong. No countdown timer to announce Fantastic Four from Marvel Studios.

Once again, your reading comprehension skills are atrocious. Very few posters thought an announcement would be made last week, though we were Keeping Hope Alive that it would happen. See you next year at D23!

Here is what you said:

There will be no easy release of the property by Fox.

So the DD scenario all over again? Cause it worked out so well the last time?

That's the nature of the business. You make it sound like a movie studio is incapable of repeating mistakes. I mean are we not in this situation because of three totally bad Fantastic Four movies?

It was a narrative perpetrated by multiple posters here. Not necessarily on this thread, but in this forum definitely. I will be at D23 next year. I've been to every D23.
