It still would have been nice for them to be at the panel to put some confidence in the moviegoers, fans, and industry that they're going to really do it right this time. Balls out.

I don't think they need to prove anything at this point.......to fans or anyone else....I want them working right now so that they can prove it when it counts.....in June 2007...

They may have figured it wasn't worth getting trampled under the big movies so they will release their first promo stuff at a time it can get full attention

That's kind of what they said but at the same time even at panel with Guillermo Del Toro they were asking Silver Surfer questions that have made headlines as well. It's highly anticipated but to me it was a mediocre film. I understand it's an origin film, a difficult franchise, and it's not x-men and everything so I expect part 2 to be way better and much more fun. It's not like the whole cast and crew had to be there. Hell Favreau is talking Iron Man for 2008, we got Wright talking Ant-Man in 2008 or beyond, and the Hulk director is gonna be there talking which won't be probably till 2009. FF comes out next year. Oh well.

I think he has the right built and attitude to be SILVER SURFER. Also he has done lots of stunt work in the past which means they can kill two birds with one stone by making him the SILVER SURFER and getting him do the stunts for silver surfer.

But i guess Doug jones will be the person :) :(

Well, I can see your point but he has one big drawback - he isn't known for being able to act through the latex. If you can't emote with skill then you've kinda had it. Physical appearance can be altered, but if you don't have the acting talent (which this role demands) to go with it you're basically buggered.

No news from the con? I'm curious what Stan Lee (is he back as Willie Lumpkin?), costume designer Mary Vogt had to say and if there was any news on the director's cut dvd.

FF artwork that was on display at Comic Con 2006. NOT sure if it has anything to do with the film.

That piece of the Sue Storm looks a lot like Alba and reminds me of stuff Greg Horn has done.

Wow, cool artwork. Nice find Retro.

I saw some live coverage of the con on the G4 cable channel over the weekend. They had an interview with Marvel EIC Joe Quesada where they asked him what he is most excited and he replied that it was the Iron Man project with Spider-Man 3 coming in a close second. He didn't even mention the FF at all.
There was a panel where Stan Lee appeared with Joe Q and other Marvel writers like the FF's JMS and both John Romita Sr and Jr but they mostly talked comics, like the FF: The end project. (cover below by Alan Davis) Newsarama story

That's the movie costume with the 4 symbol in the middle, rather than on the side.

Could these be our first glance at the costumes in FF2?

^ That was at the Activision Booth for Marvel Alliance.

Edit: I SEE ALREADY ANSWERED> ;)
