Can see Syril and Dedra surviving, his new girlfriend dying, and this leading to Syril killing Dedra in the final arc.

First one down.

Good lord, Syril and Dedra doing PDA is as awkward and weird as one would expect. Interesting, almost thought that Syril bagged himself a Ghor woman, but it seems she may be interested in Wil. And yeah, Dedra and Syril are very much not on the same page for what the plan is.

Surprised to see the Yavin base, before the full Alliance. Makes sense that it would largely there before the official formation of the Alliance, but surprised me a bit. The bit with the Force healer was interesting. Given some of what Gilroy has said, did not expect to see any mysticism in the show. And I am not particularly a fan of some of what they are implying, especially given the statements that this season changes Rogue One. Still, I am sad that there is no crap talking of the Emperor's Rasputin, Vader, on the Imperial side now.

I do find it fascinating that Luthen is already on the outside of the proto Alliance. He's more Saw than a team player, it seems. Very curious where he goes for the rest of the arc.

Yay, Cassian got his U-wing already. So, betting on him acquiring K2SO this arc.

So yeah, second episode was a tad... intense.

I genuinely laughed when Syril walked past Cassian at the start. And with how everything played out, it does feel perfect that Syril essentially came full circle to face Cassian again. I will need to watch it again to get a better feeling of whether he was attacking Cassian to protect Dedra or just because Cassian is just the ultimate symbol of the failures of his life. And the whole "Who are you" from the guy who you life has been ultimately been changed by, is just great for the kind of character Syril is. And it isn't a redemption. And not going to lie, the scene between him and Dedra, while I was still reeling pretty hard from the sheer unexpectedness, I think is going to be harder to rewatch than the assault from episode 3.

Good news, Will and his girl survived. Plus, Cassian picked up a friend, so 3 episodes of K2 is great news. Though dear god, they continue to make the K2 Security Droids absolutely terrifying.

I am glad we got no cut aways to other stories. Gave this story the focus and time id deserved.

Episode 8 is magnificent. As good as Star Wars, hell television has ever been. But there is a melancholy that this all feels a tad rushed. I wish we had at least three seasons for all these character arcs and stories to be fleshed out. Imagine spending a whole season with the French resistance. Also wish they did this season one episode at a time. Three a night is so much to digest. Imagine having a week between these three big ole episodes.

Another great batch of episodes especially 8 which was hella intense and heavy asf but that's exactly the kind of stuff I expect out of this show and they didn't hold back.

Syril's fate was sealed a long time ago but it was still interesting seeing those reactions from Dedra and his mother.

I also wish we spent more time with these characters because it really did feel like we just kind of jumped into the chaos and if this show was getting the attention and ratings it deserved I'm betting Disney would have been more than open to doing more seasons but it is what it is and I guess we're just lucky to be getting a quality show like this at all.

Anyways, were in the final stretch now which is bittersweet but it also would have been nice to enjoy this at a regular weekly pace.

I do love hearing Tudyk as K2 again as well and I really can't wait to rewatch Rogue One next week once this season finishes.

"We are rewriting the story" feels like Gilroy venting about getting feedback about what was already canon about Mothma's speech.

9 was always going to have an uphill battle following 8. It largely succeeded, I feel. I love Mothma stuff. Funny no mention of Perrin, hope he gets a call out next week.

God, O'Reilly really hit the speech, and an excellent upgrade over the tidbit we got in Rebels. And man, Gilroy really used the kind of goofy PT design of the senate well. Between the near abandoned senate in S1, to the use of the camera for some really good angles to project emotion of Mothma's speech.

I am just going to stick with the belief that Luthen's issues with Organa's people was more than the ISB spy, and has personal issues with how the Ghost crew operate. But the extraction and tension of Mothma over the two plans were great. Feel bad for Mothma though. Leaving Cassian for ol Demon Eyes is going to rough.

I do laugh at Gilroy kind of repainting the Secret Cargo episode as essentially theater. So many pilots died for theater....

I did not expect Bix to up and leave. I guess the question is if she is gone for good, or is going to show up next week.

Good to see Melshi and K2S0 around. Get Cassian some more fun partners. Kind of surprised Willam made it. And his girlfriend. Guess he could still end up on Jedha.

Chills. I got actual chills. And I cried. I didn't know Star Wars was capable of being that intense. I feel like I didn't breathe for at least 2/3rds of episode 8. And episode 9 was just....powerful. And disturbingly relevant. I've said this before after certain episodes of Andor and I find myself saying it yet again: those were the best couple of hours of Star Wars I have ever watched. I'll definitely be crying again when this show is over. :weeping:

P.S. - Richard Sammel better get a guest actor Emmy for this. Goddamn.

The Narkina-5 prison arc was my favorite set of episodes in Andor…until today.

Equal parts, thrilling, anxiety-inducing and devastating. That might be the most tense I’ve ever been watching anything Star Wars related in my entire life. And I’ve seen pretty much all of it.

I said about 2 1/2 years ago that, as someone whose favorite film was ESB growing up, this show became my overall favorite Star Wars thing ever made, and this week’s set of episodes completely solidified that for me. What a triumph.

Bravo, Tony Gilroy and crew.

I fully agree. Probably not too controversial to claim that this penultimate arc is the best one but episodes 8 and 9 in particular were outstanding. Can't wait to see the final three.

Tonight is the night Cassian went from my worst nightmare to a top 10 Star Wars character for me. ****ing wow.
Episode 9 was the one that really made me go, "Yeah. This is why his name is the title of the show."
