What If Season 2/Episode 9 “What If… Strange Supreme Intervened?”

Yesterday I rolled my eyes, because all the comments that this is actually "Captain Carter in the Multiverse" and not "What If". After today, I have to agree. I dont mind that she shows up in the final again, but she is 100 % main protagonist again instead of being part of an ensemble.

The whole episode was more about a cameo festival. Not all ideas are bad, they qre quiet good actually, but totally rushed. And she was totally overpowered by the end. Infinity Stones, Helas Crown, Thors hammer, 10 rings.. Come on..

My only gripe about this episode is after getting the infinity stones from Killmonger, couldn't Peggy just snap her fingers and make Strange turn to dust?? Problem solved...

Overall I enjoyed this season FAR more than season 1.

It was a decent finale but it was more about showing off how much stuff they can throw at us as far as cameos and easter eggs. At the very least this episode sold me a little more on Kahoori.

Overall I thought this season was okay, which is the same that I thought about the first season so I'd rank it as more or less on par with that.

I didn't understand the rules for the Infinity Stones here. Killmonger and Peggy are obviously stronger than the average person thanks to the herb and the serum but that still doesn't put them on the level of Thanos or even Hulk so how were they able to harness the power of all the stones and live?

While I don't hate the character, I think whoever told Kevin Feige "the fans love Captain Carter, she's a fan favorite, best character we've had in years, you should rush a cameo in DS2, oh!!! next season we absolutely should have 3 whole episodes of her as protagonist!!!" deserves to be slapped on the face.

I enjoyed it.

I am one who loves Captain Carter and her being the "main" character who helps tie together episodes of What If...? is no biggie to me and is actually nice. 3/9 episodes isnt ANYTHING and its still very much What If. Though I was expecting Hela Goddess of Life to come in and play a role.

All this talk by the Watcher at the beginning about Strange Supreme seeing the error of his ways when he was the only one left was all mistaken. Strange Supreme never saw the error of his ways and was plotting all this time to restore his universe but waiting until the time was right.

Should've really made Strange Supreme the villain of Multiverse of Madness instead of Wanda. It seems more fitting and would've tied into the first film more too.

I liked Thanos' annoyed face when he got snapped away. It's like he's indirectly saying, "Can I PLEASE have more than 5 seconds of screen time where I actually get to do something?"

Nah, Wanda is a character people know. Strange Supreme is a character from a cartoon that most would walk in unaware of who he is other than the obvious another Doctor Strange. Wanda was much more a marquee name and selling point to MoM

 

[Venom 1988]

Thought this was a pretty good episode. Probably not the best, but it was pretty enjoyable. I don't really have an issue with the spotlight on Carter. And I really like Kahhori in this, felt I got a better sense of her personality.
