Season Four may be the last season?

Thought I saw a article stating they have a contract to do 1 more season?

I remember Kring saying he had a plotline ready for Season 5 but I don't remember anything about a contract for season 5.

Based on how the ratings have been, I can't say I'm surprised.

I figured this would be likely, but we'll have to wait and see.

How is this a bad thing? The show has been sucking for a while now, and maybe the best thing for it would be to set an end date. That way the story could actually be moving towards something meaningful, and give opportunity to end it on a high instead of sputtering out which it is currently doing.

Just look at Lost.

I agree the ratings don't lie. This season, while the story has been somewhat solid, Heroes' inconsistencies have finally caught up to them and I'm not all that surprised that this season might be the last. I just hope that we get a good ending. Not a cliff hanger like every episode has been.

Maybe years down the road we'll get a movie with a big budget kind of like what Sex and the City did.

Except Lost always was about one big story and setting an end date prevented them from milking that story out too much. There was always going to be an end point. They had to solve the mystery of the island and their purpose there at some point.

The concept for Heroes could have gone on for a long time since every volume there would be a new villain, new heroes, a new plot, and tons of potential. No matter what, this will be cutting the story short.

Not to mention Lost had a three year plan to end the series but this will be just half a season's notice to give Heroes a satisfying conclusion.

Its just really sad what this show couldve been. Even though the writing has suffered in past seasons it has still set up a very interesting and unique universe which couldve had an utterly awe-inspiring story but alas we got what we got instead of quality. Ill still always love the show and its characters but its no secret that it was the story telling and writing that lacked and not the acting, or atmosphere created that lacked imho

if this show ends without a conclusion i'll be pissed and especially if it's something half handed because they didnt have time to write a good finale.

Well some links say the oppisot of each other. Some say it will get a 5th Volume, some say it won't. We need to wait for the official word to know. If it is the last Volume, as long as it gets a good finale I'm fine. All I really want is Peter V.S Sylar full powers battle. Have Peter get his powers back, maybe have it be an end of the world type thing cuz of Sylar and have Peter battle him. Don't let any one else help him please. It really should be Peter alone to finish him off.

Psst this is Volume 5...

But anyways, I still stand by NBC's only got Heroes, Chuck, and Law & Order. They're not about to cancel any of them until they hit Jay Leno levels.

Sorry guys the plug is being pulled! Most of the cast is already moving on two new projects. It will be wrapping up soon. The numbers just aren't there anymore.

I kind of wouldnt mind if this were the last season. While I have watched 1-3 faithfully, I just cant get into the show anymore, there just isnt anything exciting about any of the charecters anymore.

If you gave this Heroes writers a decade to write a good finale......... it would still be not enough time.

All I want is one more season, with it set up to be the last. Just one more!

Probably true but I just hope they come up with some sort of conclusion.

Y'know, that last sig reminds me - Heroes almost never delivers on their Volume title... is there anyone being redeemed here? Maybe the show itself, lol.

It's sad though, I should have seen this coming, when the show finally gets good again, that's when it gets canceled.

If Mohinder doesn't die by the end of the season then I'd be worried. However isn't possible to keep him on two shows. They barely used him this season and could have him do guest appearances or something like that. It's even harder to take a chance on a new tv show these days because they are lucky to make it past the first season .

That's actually how I view the title. :hehe:

But they do bring the word up several times, so it might end up meaning something. Noah and Tracy seem to be trying to strive for it by starting/accepting a new way of life, Emma felt guilty for letting that boy die, Matt's actions in Volume 4 caught up to him even though he wants things to go back to the way they were, Mohinder still has trouble letting go of his father's research, etc. We'll have to wait and see though.

I agree. In the original concept for Heroes, the plan was for the Season 1 cast to become side characters that appeared once in a while as part of the "universe." Mohinder could become a side character who comes back every once in a while because of his connection to his father and his heavy research in people with abilities. At the very least, they could just give his character some resolution and have him go home to India to be with his girlfriend, finally letting go of his father's legacy for good. I actually don't think killing off characters needs to be the only way they leave the show. Some characters could just experience a resolution to their story arc.

I would love a Season 5 if they got rid of Claire, HRG and Sylar and brought back Monica and Micah. The Rebel storyline in the comic during volume 4 was more interesting than season 3 ever was.
