Series you rank in order of release?

Yep, I'm stealing this from the thread in The Cutting Room Floor.

I think this might be a bit more difficult for video games though considering just how iterative and sequel-driven games are by necessity. Not to mention how long some series have been going for.

Anyway, what are some game series that rank in order of release?

For example, if you like Mass Effect 1 more than 2 and 2 more than 3, that would be one example.

Wow thats not easy as most games tend to improve in sequels rather than decline, only ones I can think of so far:

Metal Gear Solid 1
Metal Gear Solid 2

Shank1
Shank2

Fable 1
Fable 2
Fable 3

I can't really think of one. Maybe Left 4 Dead, but that's a bit easier because its only two games so far.
