Exactly. The Planeteers are supposed to be teenagers. Just get the Disney kids to do it.

I was watching Nick's Kids Choice Awards and there was a part where Leo DiCaprio came out and preached at kids for 5 minutes about the environment. The entire time I was thinking, "he'd make a great Captain Planet."

This quote sumarises te entire Hype! boards.
"Oh man, [insert actor/actress] looks like [generic comic book/cartoon character] with long hair/beard/red hair! He/she should totaly play them in a movie!"

Here's a little taste (that in no way reflects the tongue-in-cheek nature of the script):

-Opens up with a prologue featuring a narration from Gaia, the spirit of the Earth (pretty much a hot Mother Nature) while introducing us to the five 'Planeteers' as each of them find their separate elemental rings. We see Kwame at a dig site dusting off bones and finding his earth ring, Wheeler doing community service in a big city finding his fire ring, Linka is giving out flyers on the street and finds her wind ring, Gi is fishing and finds one, and finally Ma-Ti finds her heart ring in a box.

-The villain of the film is actually the people who misuse and completely abuse the planet Earth. However, the conflict of the film come from the angry spirit of the Earth's essence, which is embodied by Gaia (who can actually warn humans about the dangers that lay ahead, yet her temper/mood is completely dependent on how the planet is feeling.

-The five ring holders start out the movie working in Chicago on the streets, they hand out flyers and sign people up for petitions and stuff. They all discover that each of them has been gifted a special ring of elemental power that together create a force more powerful and good than anything else on Earth... Captain Planet!
