They just showed some footage and and announced he would be doing the voice. Some of the footage had his voice in it.

The guy is a pretty good voice actor.

The voice sounded nothing like Seth! But it was sweet.

And this was hands down the best panel at this years con.

Anyone going to put up a write up on what was seen and heard?

Well, the moment Del Toro was introduced the crowd went nuts and gave him a standing ovation. Then the cast was introduced. They showed an extended 3 minute trailer that looked so good, even though they said it was really ruff still. After that the lights came back on and all of the various creatures from the film were all on stage.. it was SICK! Some of them were really terrifying and I felt bad for the little children in the audience. Then they all talked about the film for a while. He mentioned Seth being the new voice of Kraus. And at some point they showed the new Struzan poster and said they only had 2,000 copies (I got one!). Del Toro took the poster he had and threw it into the audience to see people fight over it, and sure enough they did! It was amusing. Del Toro himself talked the most, and he's pretty much amazing. The kind of guy you'd want to party with most definitely. Then Q&A commenced but I cant remember what was asked.

Hehehe, he's going to sound like Stewie. But it's an interesting choice.

Seth is actually a very diverse voice actor. Not to mention he is very intelligent. I'm glad that he's getting a chance to show his talents outside of his animated shows. :hellboy:

To anyone who seen the footage, how did he sound and was it obvious it was him?

It really didn't sound like him at all.. or maybe it will now that I know it is his voice. . .

I wonder why Thomas Kretschmann got replaced. Scheduling conflicts?

No, he said that his vocal range was at the same level as the sounds of his costume and it sounded like a mess, well he used the word ****.

Here's G on the matter from the HBII message board;

Seth also speaks fluent German- he studied in Cologne and -if you heard him voice Stewie and Brian- has a wonderfully educated voice. The problem with tha casting of Thomas was that his voice -through no fault of his own- was in the EXACT range as the gas / mechanical sound FX of Johann and came out monotone no matter what performance and direction we tried. Seth is my decision. 100% as I find his versatility amazing. He brings life and excitment to the character. He's not doing Peter- this guy is one of the most talented and versatile voice actor I've ever met and his Johann made a massive difference in my heart. I thank heavens for his availability and showmasnhip. If we could only be judged by what we've done no one would wonder out of his/her range and expand.

He's perfect for me.

Best

Wow, Seth must have done an awesome job, can't wait to hear his character talk now, I hope he does more stuff like this.

And you think thats bad, how about the time I was a member of the B.P.R.D.

It's a South Park reference from when they made fun of Family Guy. It basically was just Peter Griffin saying 'and you think thats bad' and they would cut away to something radom.

Aah! Thanks for sorting that out.
