^Yeah, saw that in the other thread, looks awesome!
Hey gang, new to the Board. I'm glad I'm reading this thread as now I need to ask if I can still use that sticky stuff that leaves that oily residue when I hang my new Hellboy 2008 movie poster?
Michael
^You take your posters seriously dont you HM!!!!!!!
I'm an archivist and historian. I can't help myself. It's genetic ... *tic* ... my signed posters are still in their archival acid-free unbuffered tubes, out of harm's way, tied up with undyed archival tape (NEVER an elastic band ... *twitch* ...) until I have my little office redecorated. My other stuff is in archival boxes or melinex covers. Or both. My star item of film memorabilia in my little collection is packed with archival acid-free tissue paper and lined with silicon paper to try and prevent the off-gassing from degrading the rest of the item. And no, I'm not telling you what it is. It is very precious and unique. I also have, among other things, a Hellboy crew baseball cap given to me by GdT, an Art of Hellboy signed by Mike Mignola done when a bunch of us sat down to dinner with Mike, Ron and Guillermo (it has a beautiful little Mignola doodle inside of Hellboy saying 'Oh crap') and I have a limited edition Oscar promo booklet from DDT Efectos Especiales done only for the Oscar presentation for Pan's Labyrinth, given to me by DDT themselves. And my little Fauno, a tiny antique bronze faun's head, sits by my PC, found for me in Madrid by Doug. I know, I know ... I'm bragging a bit, but they are very precious to me for many reasons. So, I look after them.
Scotch tape, thumbtacks, elastic bands, staples and duct tape are the Devil's instruments and should be avoided at all costs. Take care of your posters. They are entrusting themselves to you. Nurture them and love them, and treat them well. And no, Shadowcat, my Hellboy bust STILL isn't out of its box. I still haven't plucked up the courage. He might get dusty. Sigh ... *tic* ... *twitch, twitch* ...![]()
