Interesting day already
So, my friend Amanda, she's a hardcore X-Men fan. She even has a rogue streak in her hair (which looks pretty good on her). She calls me up earlier this week and tells me that there's gonna be a meet-n-greet at the Torpedo Wharf near Fort Point that coming Monday (today) from 10 to noon, and that I HAD to go and get her something. Well, we all know I'm a *****, so I go.

The weather started out beautiful today, in my neighborhood, so I wore a t-shirt and shorts. I get there, and it's foggy and windy and cold over there. Poop. And it wasn't a meet-n-greet, it was an interview event, three members of the cast which turned out to be Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, and Dania Ramirez, being interviewed over and over again by different reporting agencies, while a handful of us fans are standing behind a police gate waiting patiently and occasionally competing for free swag. It was fun, if not cold, and it ran overtime, but eventually the interviews ended and the cast came over to greet the fans. Shawn was great, he's totally Mr. Personality, really schmoozed the crowd. Anna came over shortly after to sign autographs and take pictures, and god only knows where Dania went, I lost track of her after the interviews were over. Well, I had intended to take a snapshot with Anna and get my cellphone signed (guess I couldn't break this one after that, huh?), but alas, it wasn't meant to be. The jackass I handed my camera off to pressed the wrong damn button (how hard is it to understand "silver with a red dot"?), BUT I happened to have Amanda on the phone at the time, so I handed it off to Anna to talk to her for a minute. It was cool, I'm surprised I didn't hear a squeal come from the earpiece. It was still pretty funny, this is what I heard:

"Hello, who's this?............This is Anna Paquin, how're you?.........no, really, this is Anna, I'm standing here next to your friend, he's in a t-shirt and shorts, he must be freezing cold"

She then posed for a picture next to me and said, "Here, now you'll have proof!" but, of course, dumbass pressed the wrong button and so much for that plan. But I managed to snap off a shot of her with the guy next to me, though, which was cool enough.

::chuckles:: Needless to say, I had a fun time. I am so not one to geek out over celebrities, but it's still cool to meet them on occasion. Though, in all honesty, had Amanda been there with the white streak in her hair, I would've probably worn my Cyclops visor. ::chuckles::

My roommate was not able to go..dam him! He slept too late.

What did the mini-posters look like? Just the claws?
