Shameless

Why does she need to be saved/fixed by him? That's bull. It would cheapen her recovery. She got herself into this mess, she should have to get herself out.

I don't know, I just feel like his ******** can make her wake up more to f-ing up. Sort of a low-bar being set, since Frank is essentially not on her radar at all.

She essentially for a while became Frank and looking back I guess she has always had that in her. I don't think said character can just come in and save her. I don't think he's ever done that. What he can do for her which she grossly took to a horrific level this prior season was try find something for herself. Taking care of those kids has been her life but they are growing up now. She isn't needed as much as she once was. In season one what began to happen this season he wanted for her then. Do something just for her, a life where she isn't the sole caretaker.

Great ending. The scene with Frank and Carl at the end was touching, and I hope he remembers the little girl with the heart condition enough to see some changes in him.

For a while this episode, I thought they might be giving Ian HIV or AIDS. I thought he was on drugs all season, and I would be shocked if he and Mickey used condoms. The bipolar thing came a little out of nowhere for me, but it wasn't terrible.

I totally thought that too about Ian, it would have been a little more shocking than to find about the bipolar disorder.

I find it odd people didn't see Ian's bipolar disorder coming. The first scene he had this season I knew that's the direction they were going with him.

The last thing I was thinking was AIDs or HIV, that's for damn sure.

I wasn't thinking bipolar, I was thinking a serious drug problem and he just crashed.

Yeah, I think with him taking drugs while in that night club, it sorta made you wonder what was really going on with Ian... But he started acting reckless while he was in the army, and I didn't think he was drugged up then.

I thought Ian having the bipolar thing was all but confirmed like a season ago, we just finally saw it play out.

The drugs probably just exacerbated his condition. Most unnerving yet intriguing part of the season for me. From that first scene with him it was obvious that's where they were going. He was manic as ****

I thought it was just drugs up until this episode. Then when he got all sick and depressed I thought they were just catching up to him in a bad way.

I wonder if Lip and his girlfriend will stay together. I would like to.
I didn't quite understood the final scene with Franck and Carl. Was Franck drinking his last drink and finally giving up alcohol ? At first I was thinking he was about to commit suicide.

Ha, I thought he was committing suicide, too.

But after the scene, I think he's back drinking. He'll never give up drinking.

I thought it was Frank being Frank. They say he can't drink but he doesn't care and is gonna drink this new liver to death too.

It was a nicely shot scene but my annoyance of him continues especially when I see him pass the drink onto Carl. Ian get's his moms bipolar and Carl might get his dad's alcoholism.

They should have let him die with the liver/kidney story.
The guy is more resilient than Superman.

I found the writing to be piss poor. He had bleeding ulcers in his esophagus that kept him from drinking at the beginning of the season but then he has cirrhosis instead? And now he has a new liver his bleeding ulcers are just, gone? That's what got on my nerves

Forever annoyed that Jimmy/Steve is back

Filming for season 5 recently started and people on Tumblr have spoiled the first episode for me by posting the schedule/draft

In episode 5.01 intro recap, you can see Fiona holding a pack of Morley cigarettes ( I had forgotten that trivia ).
Morley is the cig brand used by The Smoking Man from X-Files.

The premiere was ok. More of the same ol same ol really. Some interesting seeds planted though.

^I just checked, and it looks like you can watch the premiere on Showtime Anytime. But I think it airs tomorrow.

I'll check it out later tonight.

I watched it last night. It's literally the same thing over and over again. I think it's incredibly obvious where they're going with this season.
