AWESOME! They need to get to work on a script and get this bad boy made.

A problem with the interview in my estimation, is that he might be coming across a little "sean youngish" ....

Good interview, funny how the singerman actor was brought up.
Well I guess Dwayne Johnson going to be Black Adam after all.:csad:
Brandon Molale a sweet choice for Captain Marvel. :woot:

The fan choices for Captain Marvel and Black Atom are very good,i hope they are picked for the official film.

What the hell is up with the bashing of Superman Returns all the time? We're not even talking about it and you constantly keep bringing it up. Are you obsessed with disliking that movie or something? A day in your life must be like:

"My dog died :("
"Too bad it wasn't Bryan singer!"

"Hey man, could you spare some change?"
"No way, you probably make more than Superman Returns did."

"The holocaust was a horrible time for Jews, and a black spot in the history of mankind."
"It's was nowhere as bad as trying to sit through Superman Returns!"

Honestly, I feel sorry for you that you have to waste so much energy bashing a movie because you didn't like it. Some people liked it, and some people didn't. You were one of the ones that didn't, fine, we get it. We don't need to hear about it every two seconds.

That said, I'm glad they're at least giving consideration to this Molale guy, my only concern is I've heard he's not a very good actor. Anybody have a clip or something of him acting in a movie or TV show?

Good to hear the director isn't hiring Adam Sandler to be Marvel.

I think this is good casting, he certainly looks the part, I liked him in Deeds, he was hilarious.

Here is the thing, we have no indication that he has been cast as the big red cheese, or Duane as Black Adam...while visually it seems like a no brainer, I can see the producers wanting to anchor the film with a star as the Cap, like it or not. With Supes, he is bigger than anyone actor because of his place in American Pop culture, you get an unknown who can "be" supes (in one way or the other) who can embody what everyone thinks of. With the Cap (had it not been for that pesky lawsuit....damn you DC lawyers of the 50's...)he is not a fixture, or even somewhat well known...I can see them feeling the need to get a "name" to get the crowds interested in the flick. Like it or not, regardless of your preferences, the more I think about it...the more ol' Duane is the most likely canidate for the role. (on a side note per my previous post- since he is not as "well known" I can see them taking liberties with his ethnicity and see that as a positive thing. I am not saying it is or isn't ...though...it would be an interesting twist)

Regardless of whether Mr. Johnson is Black Adam, or Captain Marvel he would STILL be one of the stars of the film. Even as Black Adam it would still constitute as having a "Star" in the film, and he would probably even get top billing (Like Gene Hackman in Superman, or Jack Nicholson in Batman) so they could afford to have Brandon Molale as Captain Marvel because The Rock would STILL be there, and they would probably have several other big named actors in different roles in the film, filling up either major and minor roles.

Also just one thing, I think people here may not have even thought about (I know I didn't until now) but The Rock mentioning that they talked to him about the film and that he could be up for either Captain Marvel OR Black Adam pretty much confirms that Black Adam will be in the movie. I know most of us assumed he would be, but they could have had just Doctor Savina or whatever, and I didn't even make the connection until just now that him mentioning it means that Black Adam WILL be in the film.

I have to agree that the Rock wouldmake a perfect Balck Adam. He has the look and after he played the Scorpion King, He has the vicsiousness for the character. There is another actor that I'[ve seen that looks as if he would be perfect for the role of Captain Marvel. His name is Brandon Molale. He has the look for Marvel. the only question is can he act like he's an adult, with a bit of the kid inside of him. The IMDB has a link to see what he looks like. The link is http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0596404/.:supes:

I see what you are saying about the big names like they did in Superman, and that could work, but I still go back to my point of Supes being an icon in the american mindset with a pulling power ...well just because he's superman, and the stars in supporting roles reinforce the fact that it's a quality movie. And while that may work for Shazam, I really can see them wanting the hero to be a name because he is not an icon, if anything maybe a vague memory from the 70's show or cartoon, and therefore want to show someone of prominence in the main role. Couple that with the fact that Peter Segal is attached to direct, and he and the Rock are friends & have worked together in the past..I dunno, I just see them trying to make it a vehicle for ol' Duane. I think Brandon has the look down, and if he can act I would love to see him as the Cap and the Rock as BA...that would be perfect (assuming a good script :cwink: ) all I am saying is I have this sneaking suspicion that they want Duane for the role...I could be wrong though. Maybe the buzz around Brandon will cause them to give him a second look (though i reiterate he may want to be careful how much he says or how he comes across..for fear of the Sean Young factor..) JCam4, go to the top of the page to see a post about an interview with Brandon on the subject if you haven't read it already, you might like it.

Odin, you're right. :o
My issue / malfunction / Glitch is that I LOVE SUPERMAN.
I waited a very long time for said film.
I'm sorry but I'm having a very hard time moving on from singerman.
I need a new superman fix, Justice League & JLU are no more.
Welling' s Kal-El will never don the Birthright.
What am I too do? :csad: The singerman movie did not give me the fix I needed.
I tell you what, a great Captain Marvel film will definitely fix what ails me.
:cwink: Please forgive me for being a fien / [SIZE=-1]addict for :supes: .
Why are you guys questioning Molale acting chops?
The guy has what it takes to portray Captain Marvel. :cmad:

I was thinking, maybe the first film can be about SHAZAM & Black Adam.
Focus on Adam as The World's First Mightiest Mortal / SHAZAM's first CAPTAIN MARVEL.
Introduce Billy and his family at the end of the film. Billy parents are on a geological dig when they stumble upon an ancient Relic / The Mystical Scarab Amulet that would free Black Adam from his time suspended prison.
The Movie ends on that note.
The second film Billy lose his parents when they are murdered over the Relic.
Black Adam is freed. Young Billy is than granted the powers of the Immortals to prevent Black Adam from restoring his Rule over the modern day Egypt.

Stop with this "Singerman" ****.`Its as stupid as calling Keaton "Burtonman" and Bale "Nolanman" and Tobey "Saimiman" etc. Its ridiculous.

I am not supportin this guy for Captain Marvel simply because I have never seen the guy do anything to prove he could play the character. But I have no beef with him...yet.

Thank you. I can't believe so much hype is around a guy no one knows if he's a good actor or not.

He may be good for all I know. And I hope he is considering all the hype, but come on. As of this second, the guys most distinguishing quality is that he looks like an Alex Ross painting.

And don't say Routh looked like Reeve as his only qualification. We had no choice in picking Routh. This guy's whole momentum is based on internet hype.

the petition..yeah...I had seen that before. I think it could be construed that he may be trying a bit too hard, at least in the producers eyes.
