I can't stand most wrestlers turned actors.

They're so used to cheesy overacting and cartoonish exaggerated mannerirsms from their WWF (or whatever) days.

When I picture Captain Marvel, the Rock is the furthest thing from my mind.

I've seriously come to like The Rock as an actor, probably mostly due to "Be Cool". However, Captain Marvel is the wrong role for him. He's Black Adam, plain and simple.

Again, the Rock is a pretty damn good actor and though Black Adam isn't Polynesian - the resemblance is uncanny. To use that as a reason against the Rock as Black Adam is as illogical and unintelligent as saying Christian Bale can't be Batman because he isn't American

Right, but nor is he South African (Vosloo). It doesn't matter what race the actor is as long as he looks like the race of the character, and the Rock does. That said, the Rock really ISN'T a great actor, but he is getting better. Still not great, mind you, but better. I would prefer if someone else got Adam, but I could live with the Rock, and if Peter Segal is hellbent on having him in the film, I would much rather have him as Adam than Captain Marvel. I could deal, and actually be perfectly fine with him as Black Adam, but I would be DEVASTATED if he were cast as Captain Marvel.

Who cares if The Rock is Polynesian, the point is that he looks enough like an Egyptian to play one. He's done it before.

Arnold Vosloo isn't big enough for Black Adam. If they're gonna cast someone like Molale for Captain Marvel, they need someone of similar size for Black Adam. These two "men" have to be giants. The Rock has just the right size/build, and he is not a bad actor in the slightest.

You know, it's funny. If I'd have been told 5 years ago that one day i'd be defending The Rock as an actor, I wouldn't believe it, at all.
