He would be great if he were 15 to 20 years younger like in his Evil Dead era.

The name of the Movie should just be SHAZAM!

Nathan Kress from "iCarly" would make a good Billy

Man, any news on who is going to be cast for Big Red?
I have another name, I'd like to throw at you guys: Ralf Moeller.?

Ah, a german. With a incredibly thick german accent,

yes, PERFECT!

MMMMM, the sweet, sweet smell of sarcasm in the morining, aint it great.

The breakfast of Newbies, fresh out of The Superhero Hype! sarcasm Boot Camp.

Just because someone is new to the forums doesn't mean that their opinion is somehow less relevant. I don't know about this actor, and I also understand that one needs to cast beyond appearance in order to get the best from the character. And to be honest, I don't really care about who the part ultimately goes to, so long as they can pull it off.

And neither should you Billy.

Wow, I'm a newb, am I required to bogwash myself for daring to post? Actually your guys comments were quite funny, and noone got hurt. Better funny than a boring forum.

But seriously, a huge German who sounds more German than their anthem, and looks it too - As Shazam? All I know of Shazam is from this forum, and going by that he's either american (accent) or as close to Egyptian as possible?

I'll get my 20th post next year, can't wait!!!

Captain Marvel is American. (Black Adam is the one who is Egyptian) Billy just feels the need to suggest absolutely any guy with a large stature no matter whether they actually fit the role otherwise or not. I stopped listening to him loooong ago.

No way, he's bald, he could never play CM, without a full head of hair.

I for one love the new title.

As do I. Others have noted the "Harry Potter" similarity with the title and I like the tone it strikes. If this film can mirror those books/movies in fantasy, action, humor, and characterization I feel it will do very well. My whole family enjoys the Potter films, and many of the comic book movies being made today. This take on the character may help differentiate it from Superman as a unique comic book film.

I'm really looking forward to this.

John August has recently spoken about the film and even he's admitted that he doesnt know the final title. 'Shazam!' would be just peachy though.

Whilst Segal getting on board could mean it'll be a comedy (not too much I hope) August has said it'll be "serious when it needs to be".

I can't wait for this to be released and some parent goes to the theatre and pronounces it wrong...."yeah, let me get three tickets for...Shay-zim? Shah-sim? Shades of Glory? ****, just give me three tickets for that movie about the guy in the tight red suit!"

Not at all, I just expected to get shot down by the old guards not the new guy, that's all. Welcome aboard!

Alrighty then, the vote is in.
Ralf Moeller a NO go.
Gotcha! :word:

So if Christopher Nolan said "I'm so happy he's a part of Batman," does that mean that the title of the movie has changed? Making something out of nothing there.

Maybe, if he said that. But what good are ifs? Chris Nolan, when talking about his movie, tends to call it "The Dark Knight". Most people refer to their movies by their titles. So it's a reasonable assumption that if the director calls the movie by a certain title, that's probably what it's called.

Havent heard too much about this. Is it still happening??

Yes. John August is working hard on rewrites and I assume Peter Segal is working with him, sorting out the pre-production phase. When Get Smart begins to air TV spots, we'll know the full status of the film, as the cast and crew are likely to be making the rounds.

O.k., thanx.
