Its so strange that WB is willing to go with Shazam, where as The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern are all stuck in Development Hell. The 'Blade' arugment doesn't work here. We're pass that 'stage'.

Actually the reason Shazam is getting the go ahead really has to do with the fact that it's the only film you mentioned that's close to being ready. They were in the middle of scripting Flash when the WGA strike occurred so they had to stop work, Wonder Woman is pretty much stalled completely (unfortunately) and Green Lantern is a relatively new project still in the writing stage.

Exactly. Shazam is where it's at because the people involved in the development had a good idea for story hooks, casting, and tone and have been able to move together in that direction. They've even been able to articulate that in terms the movie executives can understand "BIG with superheroes".

Supermax is where it's at because it's got a story hook that sounds different and it has a completed script.

As far as we know there is no great Flash or Wonder Woman or Green Lantern script gathering dust in some back room. If anything we know the opposite.

Absolutely. I think Supermax should definitely get made. I don't know if Shazam! excites me as much and whether it might come off as cheesy, but I'm willing to see what they do.

i made this tonight. available in wallpaper sizes, if anyone's interested.

Nice! I think the teaser poster should be something like that.

the Rock IS Black Adam, and would not work at all s CM. Of course, I cant think of who would work as CM

Get Smart debuted as # 1 at the Bo, but I don't think it's making exceptional numbers.
Will it be enough for Warner to decide to greenlight Shazam?

I hope so. It's not like the movie has to be done by 2009 or anything. As long as it crosses 100 million, I think it'll be ok.

I think you can cast a lesser known as Marvel, as I'm almost certain the Rock along with the boy they cast will be the bigger names. Molale is the one.

Look at this mother****er's jawline. It's like he leapt right off the page.

Absolutely. Molale looks like he was born for the role of Captain Marvel.

The kid they choose will have to have some acting chops, as he probably wont' transform into Marvel anymore than about 3-4 times during the movie.

Patrick Warburton for Cap.

Since Get Smart is doing well I hope we'll see Captain Marvel in the theatres next. :D

I think so. I hope so, at least. I'd love to see this character on the big screen.

Shazam! is supposed to be cheesy.

Why do people cast actors based on looks and not talent?

Give me Brendon Fraiser.
