Not to get off topic (but I'm going to) I can't wait for this weeks issue cause it's SHAZAM! vs. Black Adam!
Any predictions on what might happen?
I see Billy getting beaten very badly
I think story-wise that would be likely, this Billy won't have a problem fighting Black Adam that's for sure.
I agree.....especially since he's still "THINKING" like Billy. Black Adam should mop the floor with him....
Just reading some of this thread and decided to skim through my copy of The Power of Shazam for a moment.
In that book, Billy can tap into all of his powers. He uses his strength and power of flight almost immediately. Before that, he made several bone headed mistakes. By chucking an explosive across Fawcet City, he ended up blowing up The Fawcett City Fairgrounds, chucks a car through a brick wall and activates his powers on top of a blimp, causing it to explode.
He finally taps into his Wisdom during his fight with Black Adam when he finally focuses and listens to what's going on. I'm not reading the Shazam back-up in Justice League so my opinion may not be too valid, but from the sounds of it, Geof Johns is going the same route. Billy is brash and boneheaded but the wisdom will eventually kick in.
SHAZAM!....I mean...there you go.
Power of Shazam is Pre Flash point right??
You're the Superhero formally known as Captain Marvel fan, shouldn't you kinda know that?
Wow, it was short but it got the point across. Black Adam pwns SHAZAM!.
But on the bright side he's about to become part of the Justice League!
makes sense, considering he's still got no wisdom in how to deal with this situation.
Shazam, please let it go.
Besides I think the "actual" reason Billy got beat down is because Black Adam is the more experienced fighter. He's used to his powers while Billy is not. Case and point when Billy tried to punch Adam he was blocked almost immediately and knocked away.
The question now is.....what next?
And the wisdom of Solomon did not direct him on how to handle this situation....
No...you let it go!
what are we twelve?.....oh wait nevermind.
I would like to see Solomon go up against Black Adam and see how he "handles" the situation. (FYI it wouldn't end well for Solomon!)
In a (futile I'm sure) attempt to divert the conversation I want you to watch a vid.
Remember that blog I posted a while ago about a SHAZAM! tv show? We'll (in case you didn't get all the way down) I'm trying to make a SHAZAM! fan-film and just recently got an entrance logo done. Link is below, want to know what you think.
Looks good. Is the short meant to be darker in tone? Because that's what the logo reads to me.
I was gonna ask the same question.....Especially when you consider that his wisdom would help him use his other powers properly!!
Are seriously thinking that I am saying that "wisdom" alone could beat Balck Adam"?? Come on man!!! LOL!!
Darker yes but probably not as dark as Arrow and Batman.
In my version Billy isn't the heart of gold kid from the past continuums nor is he the jerk from the New 52. He's kind of a hybrid of the two.
My Billy is roughly 18 years old and has been an orphan all his life. He's been in and out of foster homes a lot and that's scarred him. But he's also learned to do good. He sees himself as a lost cause but doesn't want anyone else to be that. So he does whatever he can to get all the other kids at the orphanage into good familes.
Then (in my short) he gets adopted and struggles to adapt to his new life which leads him to meeting the wizard and becoming SHAZAM!.
So it's similar to the New 52 origin but I have a twist or two in mind. Here's the link to the full blog where I lay out my idea for the series and at the bottom is a link to the Kickstarter site where I'm raising money for the project. Have a read if you want.
Shazam: we posted at the same time so I didn't get to respond. My final response. We don't know if wisdom is part of the package, wisdom only goes so far, experience is needed to know how to use everything including wisdom. Can we please drop this? And who the heck is Balck Adam? (anger typo!)
Wow, this page hasn't been active in a while. Allow me to revive it.
I mentioned earlier that I wrote a blog about a SHAZAM! tv idea. Well I decided to go one step furthur and make a fan-film about SHAZAM! I started a Kickstarter project to raise money to commision an epic SHAZAM! New 52 costume. Here is the link if you want to help.
I need all the SHAZAM! fanboys to help out on this one. If you can't donate then just spread the word, I only have 12 days left so any help would be appreciated.
Oh and did I mention a totally epic poster of our fan-film? I didn't? Well here it is!
Yup.....that's why it's so good!
Its Looking More And More Like A Shazam Ongoing Series Isnt It?
An Oral History of CAPTAIN MARVEL: The Fawcett Years, pt. 1
Any word on when the Shazam series might start hitting the shelves?
DC rejected Shazam comic from Gail Simone, Grant Morrison and Mark Waid
"With three stories each issue," Simone wrote. "Captain Marvel by Mark Waid, Junior by Grant Morrison, and Mary Marvel by me. Would have killed for that.
Thank you Gail for referring to Captain Marvel by his proper name.
I got to interview Gail Simone a few months back at C2E2, and she said that one of the characters she would LOVE to write is Mary Marvel, and she wants to write a SHAZAM! comic. LISTEN TO HER DC!!!!
Yeah, it's a total shame that Waid/Morrison/Simone comic got rejected.
