Just reading some of this thread and decided to skim through my copy of The Power of Shazam for a moment.

In that book, Billy can tap into all of his powers. He uses his strength and power of flight almost immediately. Before that, he made several bone headed mistakes. By chucking an explosive across Fawcet City, he ended up blowing up The Fawcett City Fairgrounds, chucks a car through a brick wall and activates his powers on top of a blimp, causing it to explode.

He finally taps into his Wisdom during his fight with Black Adam when he finally focuses and listens to what's going on. I'm not reading the Shazam back-up in Justice League so my opinion may not be too valid, but from the sounds of it, Geof Johns is going the same route. Billy is brash and boneheaded but the wisdom will eventually kick in.

Besides I think the "actual" reason Billy got beat down is because Black Adam is the more experienced fighter. He's used to his powers while Billy is not. Case and point when Billy tried to punch Adam he was blocked almost immediately and knocked away.

The question now is.....what next?

I was gonna ask the same question.....Especially when you consider that his wisdom would help him use his other powers properly!!

Darker yes but probably not as dark as Arrow and Batman.

In my version Billy isn't the heart of gold kid from the past continuums nor is he the jerk from the New 52. He's kind of a hybrid of the two.

My Billy is roughly 18 years old and has been an orphan all his life. He's been in and out of foster homes a lot and that's scarred him. But he's also learned to do good. He sees himself as a lost cause but doesn't want anyone else to be that. So he does whatever he can to get all the other kids at the orphanage into good familes.

Then (in my short) he gets adopted and struggles to adapt to his new life which leads him to meeting the wizard and becoming SHAZAM!.

So it's similar to the New 52 origin but I have a twist or two in mind. Here's the link to the full blog where I lay out my idea for the series and at the bottom is a link to the Kickstarter site where I'm raising money for the project. Have a read if you want.

Shazam: we posted at the same time so I didn't get to respond. My final response. We don't know if wisdom is part of the package, wisdom only goes so far, experience is needed to know how to use everything including wisdom. Can we please drop this? And who the heck is Balck Adam? (anger typo!)
