Transformers Shia/Megan talk TF(>spidey)

I'm a huge Spider-Man fan and I can even agree with that.

Maybe not as much action time-wise, but I think action itself- yeah, definitely. We got a robot on robot WAR for the last possibly twenty minutes or more- PLUS all the action that comes before that. The action in this film is going to be HUGE.

i still dont understand how it could have 15 or w.e action scenes...

thats really alot..... how many did lotr have?

Been a while since I watched that film.

Note "action" does not particularly mean 'fight' sequence. So, I believe many movies do have more action set pieces than Spider-Man, that's why I said he probably didn't mean it "time wise"

1. Transforming helicopter vs. base
2. Skorponok (I think there are TWO action scenes involving Skorp, might be wrong though)
3. Sam chasing Satan's Camaro
4. Sam escaping Satan's Camaro. Sam encountering Police Transformer. PT vs. Bumblebee. Sam and Mikela vs. Frenzy.
5. Transformer pods CRASHING to the ground below.
6. Sector Seven vs. Witwicky's and Transformers
7. Keller, Simons, Maggy, Glen (?) vs. Frenzy
8-15: Full on WAR between Decepticons and Autobots with government. So there's MANY set pieces in that- highway, city streets, building, rooftops, etc.

As I said, time-wise not as much. Location wise- yeah. Imagine a SM film with Spidey fighting the Sinister Six and swinging from one location to the next.

So war films and "alien" disaster films such as this- do, most likely, have more action set pieces than the SM trilogy. Remember, they weren't talking about time.

I shouldn't really be suprised, since this is a Michael Bay film. How long is this anyway, if it's gonna have more action than the Spidey trilogy, is should be longer.

There's a common misconception- ACTION SET PIECES vs. ACTION TIME. They were talking about 'set pieces' not that the action of Transformers is more/longer than the Spidey trilogy.

Remember that the entire last twenty minutes is a full-on WAR that spans city blocks, going from ground level to above ground level. So, that's where you would get ALOT of set pieces from. As I said, there's actually a lot of films that have more action 'set pieces' than the Spidey trilogy. Especially if it's a war or invasion kind of movie.

^^^

Runtime is 2 hours and 10 mins.

I guess 2 hours of action and 10 mins of drama, j/k :D

Oh okay. That is true. thanks.

Wow!... what a surprise! Bay's TransFormers will be filled with action.... gee, I didn't see that one coming!... If action is all this movie is based on, it's gonna be a major **** up!!! It better have the story to back it up with! And spider-man had that... let's see if TF can follow it.

WOW I don't always agree with Natie 22...but thats about how I Feel

Um, who said action was the only thing the movie has??? And Naite, dude- you seriously need to lighten up because it sounds as if you took offense to that more action than Spidey comment. I'm a Spidey fan and I'm not offended by that. Only reason I mention that is you seem upset/angry/pissed at the notion of this thread.

I can usually tell the difference between angry and upset/offended, and you seriously sound offended rather than angry.

Or just still upset that they may have taken out the ice scene?

Because, thought you were one of us Primes- not a Negatron, unless you changed sides recently?

I could listen to Megan Fox talk about "large poles" all day. :ninja:

Didn't take offence towards that... But they promote the film as if ACTION is all the movie will have, saying that it has more action in that one movie than in all three of the spidey flicks, combined... (I dont know about you, but in spidey 3 it was a bit over the top). They're just promoting this movie as if it's all action and no real good story... At least that's the way Shia make it seem... not good.

and the two early reviews we have state "it's 2 hrs. of giant ****ing robots!!!", and "I had fun through out the whole film".... still doesn't sound like they have given the story some serious consideration, seeing how non of these reviews seems to get in to it (maybe because there isn't anything to get into???)... and non of them even mentiones if the first scene on the antarctic is in the movie or not; dumb if it isn't.

You seem to have read the script due to your impressive trailer details in another thread... you had ALOT of details in that thing, that I don't think you would have known otherwise.

Did you like the story and characters? Or did you not like it at all?

^ I like the script very much... it sounds really cool!.... but, the novelization of spidey 3 also made it seem like the film would be absolutely brilliant, and it turned out somewhat disappointing in the end.... and a lot has propably been changed for the final shooting script for TF... I just hope that the films script is beeing displayed justice on screen... I really dont need to hear more about how the "giant ****ing robots" look awesome on screen... We already know that. The FX in this film is not a concern of mine; it'll be the best the world has ever seen, no doubt about it!... I really wanna hear someone compliment the story within (if it's there in the film)...

Dude, they are making the script... BETTER!

Run out and buy the novelization. Just trust me on this. They took many of the great parts about the first script and improved upon them. There's a lot more character moments than there were in the original draft of the script. They took some things out, but added alot in.

They are promoting the film the way that they see fit to bring in more money. The way you promote is not exactly what you promote, rather 'selling' to get as many people in their seats as you possibly can.

And on a box office, selling as many tickets theme- which do you think is better to promote the film? Promote the Transformers? Or promote the humans? EXACTLY. They are promoting the Transformers, the robots, the action the most- because THAT is what is going to SELL. When promoting a blockbuster, you don't promote the story- you promote the aspect of the film that will sell the most tickets. That's what promoting/marketing is all about- selling the movie, not telling the in and outs (story) of the movie.

^ you have read the novelization of TF also???

Yep. I thought it would be the same, but they added alot- they took away some scenes as well.

For example, the football try-outs FLASHBACK is not there (may just be the difference between script and book though), but the joke is still in there. Sam and Miles' friendship also is more complex than it was in the script. So, if you loved the Sam side of the story- you will definitely love the add-ons to this portion. The police interrogation is unsettling, yet hilarious at the same time. Reminded me of when I was in a situation like that with my Dad in the room.

The techies are essentially who they are in the original script. Nothing has changed, really.

Keller, I believe, has a couple of alternate/new scenes as well.

Epps is introduced earlier as a bigger part of the actual team than he was in the original screenplay as well, which is better because he is one of the key soldiers. These scenes somewhat remain the change, but are also very similar to the original script.

They also alternated the Transformer dialouges, they're the same- but the pattern of the way they speak is somewhat different.

Point is, if you liked the script- as long as everything translates- you'll like the film. Because they really improved and added to the whole human angle of it, rather than take anything away.

And from reviews and time of the film...
I think the only scene that has a chance of not being there is the ice scene, which storywise- isn't that big of a problem. We never see the Ice Man being taken to Sector Seven or Sector Seven agents or anything... just Archibal besides Megatron and his glasses. All of this information is provided later on in the film in various parts. Thus, it doesn't hurt the story at all. It would be cool to have for that amazing visual "money shot" though.

I absolutely love Spidey 1 & 2, but Spidey 3 was truly was too fat and too emo. It was lazily put together to put accross the fact that Peter was a troubled soul. Please.

[blackout]Still doesn't explain how he lets the villian go to do other villiany things at the end of the movie. So I guess all you need to do is say "Um....sorry Spidey. I'm mean." and he won't bother you.[/blackout]

AND

[blackout]Oh, and tell me how you can go into a bar, beat the crap out of several workers AND smash a girl onto the ground.......YET you walk right into that bar with NO f'in problem later and kiss her and people cheer for you. Gimme a break.[/BLACKOUT]

I didn't get my normal feeling of "Puuuuuuuuuhlllllleeeeeeease" from anything so far that I have seen. I am mad stoked about it. A "Puuuuuuhlllease" moment for me was when Wolverine and Cyclops man hugged and wet embraced at the end of X2.

Not feeling that here.

^ They didn't cheer for him at all, every one is going on about their business in that scene... and unless the bouncers sees him, why should they stop him???...

There are many flaws within spidey 3, but that's not one of them.

I wonder where we can find the full Transformers Tokyo Press Conference video. I rather see the whole thing then snippets of it.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmegan!
