Iron Man 2 SHIELD/Avengers complaints...

He's probably mad that Joss Whedon took over the Avengers instead of his beloved Wonder Woman who's still and will always be in Development Hell.

Sounds like a movie in of itself. Maybe a movie about how the film never gets made because of Hollywood's sexist ways, then get Megan Fox to star in the making of a WW porn movie in the movie.

I hope you are not very kind to GL if that turns out to be another run of the mill movie that underperforms relative to its budget. You come down hard on every Marvel film and that's fine. But you are officially on notice.

Put me on notice all you want, you've clearly never heard my rants on Superman Returns if you think it's just Marvel that gets harsh treatment. If GL turns out to be ordinary as hell marks my words it'll get a tongue lashing, same will go for any film coming out, superhero or otherwise.
I'm getting the feeling that you don't like Marvel very much do you jmc?

I've got no reason to dislike them, I'm no expert in their mythology so I can only judge the films that they present to me. I call it like I see it.

Yeah, I'm pissed because a guy who did nothing for 18 months left. Nice try.

Damn I wanna see one of your rants on Superman Returns. Rants on SR are always fun.

Don't say that! You're jinxing GL :woot::o

Okay but you just dropped in and said we were too kind to the Hulk and I obviously disagree. Why do you think we're too kind to him?

Haha yeah he didn't do much. If I had to guess why I would say there wasn't really much enthusiasm for a Wonder Woman film. A Wonder Woman film would be a great film if done right.

Man, these types of threads have become quite entertaining. I just think it's great to show so much hostility towards each other. I especially love when fans "badmouth" others because they so obviously, certainly, 100%, absolutely-positively favor the other brand of comics, and always, ALWAYS hate on the brand that isn't of their choice. And it only gets better when insults are traded. If you don't like my film, then your film will suck too. As a matter of fact, all of your films will suck forever. Yeah that's right, I know you're jealous of us. Muhahaha. Great stuff. Keep it coming. I love it. :)

Oh man, I could go on for hours about SR. :woot:

Coz it just wasn't that interesting, the film plodded along at a mild pace, it never once felt like anyone knew what the film was doing or what it was suppose to be, it tried it's best, the actors did what they could, but in the end it's a film that didn't really go anywhere or bring anything new to the table.

In my opinion, I would say that Marvel is 3 for 3 in terms of quality. I LOVE Iron Man 1 & 2, and I think that TIH is a decent flick, even if it isn't one of my favorites. I had a good time seeing it while it was in theaters.

At the very least, I think TIH was a vast improvement to Ang Lee's Hulk. Now THAT was a bad movie.

Some of you are very kind to Hulk.

And you're being very mean to Hulk. :oldrazz:

think ang lee's hulk has a good story but poor action and TIH is the complete opposite.

I disagree. I believe the film had good development and it did go somewhere. It was the journey of Banner's search for a cure. I believe that the story was good (could've been better) and Norton as Banner was one of the best superhero castings made (especially for what he brought behind the scenes too). It was a good quality film the brought the Hulk series justice while advancing the Marvel film universe.

Banner understood the character of Bruce Banner, but I will agree that I wish the chemistry between him and Liv Tyler was a little better.

I disagree, but I totally understand where you're coming from. I know that Ang Lee was really set out to make a multi-layered and deep movie. I appreciate his effort and I admire what he was trying to accomplish, but I don't think it came out well.

Anyway, I think that the simpler story in the reboot is better. Just a personal preference. :)

I also enjoyed the ending of TIH more than ang lee's hulk. I absolutely HATED the ending of IM but the ending of IM2 kicks arse. the movie (IM2) plods along in the middle but the final act is brilliant.

Ang Lee's film was deeper, but deeper doesn't mean better. Even Lee's deeper film had that WTF scene where Nolte rants about...something incoherent about the military. It kind of lost its way at points, though I still appreciate aspects of it. However, TIH I just loved more as a comic film AND as a Hulk film. It was just better. Though I do think the Stark cameo being before the final credits was a bad choice. Completely overshadowed the film by doing that.

I think it was perfect to have him right at the end.

And the line that Ross says at the end of the film "I'm the one with the problem?" Makes much more sense now.

I agree with Spider Fan, though I understand why that decision was made. I think Marvel wanted the movie to ride on the success of Iron Man (which was still very fresh in people's minds back then).

I remember a lot of the TV spots for TIH had Tony Stark in them. I think that was an attempt to grab the mainstream audience.

By ending the film with Stark, they kind of left everyone on a note of how cool Tony Stark is, and not on a note about the Hulk's journey. The Stark cameo should have been after the credits, IMO.

Exactly. They wanted to distance itself from Ang's Hulk, and at the same time capitalize on the audience being in love with RDJ as Stark. Hence why they advertised that cameo to sell the film. I understand the decision. I just don't agree with it from a filmmaking standpoint. Sends a bad subtle message, IMO.

I can honestly tell you that I had little desire to see TIH at the time, but then I saw Tony Stark in it and that made me want to see it. I didn't regret it :woot:

Me too. I really want to know who it listed as possible members.

I would like to know why S.H.I.E.L.D. wants General Ross.

UNLESS, since Ross said "Who's we?", maybe we'll get some backstory of Fury and Ross and how they used to work together. It'd be a nice subplot in Captain America: The First Avenger since Fury will obviously be in that film.

Ross is an expert on the Hulk, who I am sure is one of SHIELD's most wanted people. Of course they'd like to have him involved. Plus, he appeared to be a fairly competent general, just one who made a mistake with Blonsky out of his desperation to finally snag Banner.

it seems to me that Ross is in charge of the special weapons division of the Army...maybe even the same division that created Captain America back in WW2

I could only see Hulk on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s "most wanted" list if Banner illegally tested out the super soldier program via gamma radiation.

or maybe he turns into a giant green engine of destruction and if a drunk Iron Man is bad.....need i say more
