I like that Owen did this as well as that cameo in Pink Panther. You expect him to be one of those A-list "I won't do anything if it's beneath me" types, but he obviously likes to do fun stuff as far as movie roles.

Hopefully this isnt too off topic but if you can find these films any more they are worth watching they are only about 5min long but its short filmds Clive Owen did for BMW right before he took off in the US. Cool thing too is that each episode is directed by a different big budget Director.

One last thing in shoot em up did you notice how he only drove BMWs? I think that might have been a homage to his series the HIRE or he's just a big BMW fan.

It'll do ok, considering its low distribution. The 3 films that made more are on 2500-3000+ screens, this one is on about 2100.

I saw it last nitr and it was awesome. I like all the gun scenes.

especally when he jumped out the plane and the guys followed him. I mean how often do you see a gun fight in mid air never!

and when he was at his place and those guys attacked he killed one after another and when he went down the rope and shoot up the whole place was awesome! this is one of my top 10 movies of the year for me so far.

I thought Crank was ok, but this movie absolutely destroys it in every way imagineable.

The worst action sequence in this is leagues more exciting than the entire Crank movie.

I really dont agree with you, but thats your opinion. I actually thought Shoot 'em Up has a pretty flat style at times, where Crank has a bit more "glaze on the cheeze" if you know what i mean.

The gun pulley system and riding the rope down the apartment building while blasting away at legions of baddies on every floor are probably my favorite...eh, EVERY action sequence was my favorite. It's damn near impossible to narrow it down.

I don't know how someone could use "flat" to describe Shoot Em Up. I don't mind Statham, but he's nothing compared to Owen or Giammitti in expressions and deliveries, and Amy Smart sure as hell is no Bellucci.

For a direct action comparison, both had mid-air action sequences, and Crank's was a drop in a bucket compared to Shoot Em Up.

I thought the AC DC song went well with the mid air gunfight and then when he was on the ground you see all the dead bodies laying on the ground.

You can tell this was inspired by those old HK action flicks, and I suspect some of the video games where your guy can basically do all this crazy ass **** and not even break a sweat. I'm sure we'd all like to see Shoot 'Em Up the game one day.

Anyone that likes this movie should try to find The Dobermann; a violent, over the top French action flick with Monica and Cassell.

This sort of reminds me of it.

I loved this movie...a more accurate title would have been "Clive Own Kills F**king EVERYONE" though...it's quite possibly the best action movie I've ever seen....it and 300 are both very close to that spot...

Wow, this film blew me away. Absolutely great! Best action movie I've seen in a long time. Reminded me of Crank, but better. Everyone should go see this!
