I thought Crank was ok, I'm pretty positive this will blow the doors off of it.

I'm not sure if general audiences will really get it, just look at Grindhouse. Alot of the time this type of thing just goes over peoples heads.

"It looks ridiculous!"

Yeah...that's the point.

I think it will be a HIT with teenagers and college students, but beyond that- I'm not sure many would get it.

The major flaw in Grindhouse in terms of box office was it's run time. 3 hours and 15 minutes. Not many people can sit in a theater for more than 2 hours and 40 minutes, let alone 3 hrs and 15. So, run time- imo- is the main thing that killed "Grindhouse" at theaters.

That's true, but I heard alot of the general public say the same things detractors of this film say.

"Rose McGowan with a gun leg looks ridiculous...this movie looks over the top and silly!..."

One thing that's damn near certain, this will have a huge cult following and do great on dvd.

What killed Grindhouse was that half of it was Tarentino's worst film. I still cant believe I was compelled to leave (I loved Planet Terror) because of the relentless drivel coming out of the mouths of those bimbo's. I couldn't take anymore of it. i really hope you can buy just the Planet Terror sequence, because I want nothing of Death Proof ever again.

So do we see belluci's balloons fully or what....

Wow. This movie is quite simply entertainment and adrenaline personified.

I can't think of a single film that's packed with more jaw dropping stunts, setpieces, and dialogue that's as cool as it is hilarious. Musically it has the best combination of songs and score since The Devil's Rejects.

Terrific performances from the big three cast members that actually sell lines that wouldn't have worked with other actors delivering them, Owen is now up there with the McClane and RAMBO of the 80s as one of the greatest movie bad-asses to ever live, easily one of the best sleezy villain performances I've ever seen from Giamatti who gives facial expressions that are as unique and sytlish as the dialogue, Monica plays the role with just the right blend of fragility and toughness, especially good in a scene where she has to convey her fear as Giamatti tortures and interrogates her, and a heartfelt scene between her and Owen that got me genuinally invested in how things turned out for them.
This is the best of every one man army movie ever made from the Stallone, to Willis, to Bronson...blended to perfection with the so over the top that you can't take your eyes off the screen escapist adventure of Sin City, Grindhouse and Kill Bill, but executed in a way that it makes it all its own.

This is the most original, unique cinematic experience of the year by a longshot, and if not for Pan's Labyrinth, it'd be the best film I've seen all year.
In a year loaded with great action films from 300, to Death Sentence, to Live Free or Die Hard, to Hot Fuzz...this blows the doors off of all of them and stands ahead of the pack as the definitive action film of the year, and rivals the classics as one of the greatest ever.

I'm hard pressed to think of a handful of films that gave me a better theatrical experience than this one. It's definitely Clive and Giammitti's best film, and it's Monica's best American film.

I already had obscenely high expectations, and this blew them away.

No we dont see Belucci's boobies :csad: but other than that Ill do a real quick review. The movie was weird, twisted, violent and humorous those all being positive. There was a few time during the movie I had to remind myself its a spoof on action movies, this I think is key for anyone who sees this movie. There is a lot of over the top stunt super cheesey one liners and a ton of bullets. If you forget its a spoof you have a lot to complain about and a lot to tear apart, but remember its a spoof.

Once again Clive Owen proves to be a great on screen presence, I cannot think of any other actors that would have done this role as well as he did. Its good seeing him do odd roles like this one.

Go see the movie, enjoy it and REMEMBER: ITS A SPOOF OF ACTION MOVIES!!!

remember to eat your carrots too!

Theres talk that this movie could lead to a trilogy. Does it set up for a Sequel if that's the case?

It was pretty cool, a to the point action flick. Not as fun as Crank, but a nice piece of Gun-Porn entertainment that knows what the hell it's supposed to be.

cool, now I have a reason to see this. thx

I thought Crank was ok, but this movie absolutely destroys it in every way imagineable.

The worst action sequence in this is leagues more exciting than the entire Crank movie.

It doesn't directly set up a sequel, but there definitely could be one based on the ending.

the great thing is clive owens cheesy one liners are delivered in a way that you wouldnt roll your eyes. this is an entertaining movie if you dont take it to seriously. there are alot of parts where people will go yeah right . monica bellucci is ****ing hot. im ruling out a sequel but you never know .

Belluci truly is the hooker with a heart of gold. :o The way she gets money to pay for the baby's things will crack you up, point blank. I liked how Mr. Smith basically was such a suave guy, but little things that people do just bugged the **** out of him.

yeah that scene behind the dumpster was ridiculously funny

I learned a huge lesson from this movie...eat your damn carrots. Might end up saving your life one day.

it was damn fun....... thats all that needs to be said.

the end titles were awesome as well.... very bond-ish but crazier.

I like that Owen did this as well as that cameo in Pink Panther. You expect him to be one of those A-list "I won't do anything if it's beneath me" types, but he obviously likes to do fun stuff as far as movie roles.
