Should DC take a break for a few years, then reboot?

For me DC is past the point of saving really

Scrap the whole universe and start again from scratch

Focus on one movie at a time...well I would put out 2 movies a year to start and if they rake in the cash depending on success and critic reactions then I would put out more movies

Similar to how the Marvel Cinematic Universe how they started out their formula in 2008...DC follows that formula and they can build on that

My solution would be to take a break from the well known characters and take some risks with fringe characters. Take the emphasis off universe connectivity and just go all out with good creators.

They could do a moderately budgeted Constantine, Booster gold, Birds of prey, Swampthing etc. Jump genres from street level to supernatural. Genre's that won't empty the studios pockets.

When they start to win confidence from the audience, and start making money then bring the budget up and do New Gods, Lobo, Green Lantern.

Once trust is restored bring the Justice league back. During the fringe movie phase I would still let the audience know the Justice League still exist. Brief reference's to Superman, newspaper headlines about Batman, things like that.

Honestly, I think DC should make a good TRINITY film first, after a positive reception with Batman and Superman's solo films. Then they could have a JL sequel to that.

Lol. They're not gonna sit on the sidelines for 5-6 years while they see Disney/Mcu raking in all this superhero cash. WB may not have much of a grand scheme type of a plan but they'll continue to spit out 1 to 2 a year since superhero films is still a hot commodity and they're sitting on popular comic IP's. I do think they'll abandon the universe idea most likely as evidence by the stand-alones going forward, The Batman, Joker origin, etc.

WB, just like all major studios, has always had a movie by movie, sit back and see kind of approach to their movie offerings so they're finding out first hand the difficulty of crafting a shared universe of films. Because them hopefully now realizing that one bad film can can lead to bad reception of the next film within a shared structure of films, I suspect that they'll go back to their familiar grounds... one movie at a time, one hero or team with focused stories, no longer connected to each other.

However, WB *should* slow down the rate of movie releases. One of the things to most thoroughly screw them has been their rapid schedule, which left them no room to adapt to circumstances time and time again. They need enough space that, if one movie flops, they don't have to do reshoots on three other movies.
