Should Hulk Get Another Solo? What would it be about?

Should Hulk Get a New Solo film?

  • Yes, it should be based in space.

  • Yes, it should be somewhere on earth.

  • No, but he should be a main side character in a film much like Black Widow in Captain America 2.

  • No, Hulk should be in Avengers films only.

I think a Hulk movie could work if:

1) They actually let the Hulk talk
2) Bruce and the Hulk attempt to co-exist, even begrudgingly

I know it's been said over and over again, but using Earth's Mightiest Heroes as a template would go a long way.

I agree. I especially think one can work if both banner and hulk are collectively the hero. Banner using his intelligect to solve problems, hulk using his brawn and heroism.

No. They've done 2 already, both with mediacore to disappointing successes. I say, move on and concentrate solos on new characters and fleshing them out, keep Hulk as a supporting character to one of the already established big licks like Avengers, Cap, Ironman or GOTG.

They haven't even begun to scratch the surface with the character's potential.

But by all means, let's reboot Spider-Man for a second time in five years.

Right. Hulk as a character has so much potential. I don't think the problem lies with the character but with the approach to hulk himself. Make him a character who'll gain the audiences respect, make them laugh, make them wonder, not just with his actions but with his words. Hulk has only been a spectacle, its time for hulk to become a character.

Yes and they can do that by building up a sequel with Ruffalo as Hulk with Ruffalo carrying the movie as Banner/Hulk but also seeing if he can have chemistry with Betty Ross whether that be Liv Tyler reprising the role or casting a brand new Betty to play alongside Ruffalo and then build it from there with General Ross

I actually would be interested in seeing ross as an ally. Especially if they don't go the red hulk route. A hulk movie with heart and passion is what we need. It'd be expensive but it'd be so completely worth it.

They should expand on the Leader, and elevate him to the level of threat that HYDRA currently is. Someone who's intelligent enough to cripple governments.

I prefer an Iron Man and Hulk team-up film.

For those wanting a Planet Hulk movie I don't think that would work especially if the Hulk doesn't speak throughout the film that could get boring, and also consider with Bruce Banner as the Hulk 24/7 that would limit screentime for Mark Ruffalo.

I know that they are not planning on doing another Hulk solo although it would be nice to see another Hulk solo but with the Avengers Age of Ultron Bruce Banner And the Black widow had a little romantic thing going on with that i wonder what they are going to do about his relation with Betty Ross. They could Still have her Dad "General Thunderbolt Ross" chasing him and or have him become the Red Hulk. I think if they were to do a Hulk solo it would have to be about Bruce fighting the Hulk from within more than him fighting an actual enemy.

Agreed. Expanding on leader, and different types of gamma creatures.

I just had a thought, is there any reason why Red Hulk/General Ross can't be the villain/disaster that takes place in Civil War to cut the final thread for the govt. to enforce the super human reg act? (Villain other than crossbones of course)
I mean, they COULD do another hulkbuster scene, and it would be more interesting because hulk isn't the one fighting red hulk.
It is a bit of a stretch, but at the same time somehow seems likely.

Doesn't seem all that likely. Especially since if you're goung to do red hulk you kind of need to explain how and why. With as many things going on in CW i dont see that happening at all. Ross has been hunting hulk for years, it makes plenty of sense for him to help persecute the avengers for all the damage they've caused and for harboring a fugitive. All without including Rulk.

And FFS, include Rick Jones. It's not Hulk without him

Why would General Ross going Red Hulk be a valid justification for the SHRA? Either he was doing so with government authorization, in which case he's already "registered", or he wasn't, in which case he's just another supervillain. Either way he's not a superhero.

I think a combination of Indestructible Hulk and Planet Hulk would work for another Hulk solo flick. Give Bruce/Hulk a team of SHIELD scientists who work on traveling through portals to research other worlds and times, and have the second half of the movie be about Hulk and his team being stuck on Sakaar and Banner has to use his intellect to figure out how to return home with his team whilst also protecting them in the arena as Hulk.

Some interesting side characters would be
Dr. Cho and her genius young son or younger relative Amadeus
Jane Foster
Selvig
Simmons and Fitz from Agents of SHIELD

I think that would've worked in phase 2 honestly. But depending on how things develop after phase 3, we may never get the chance to see something like that.

I'm fine with no Hulk movie in the near future if that means Ruffalo has the time to do a Columbo movie

I like the idea. It would be different for the MCU too, but would it seem too much like the Fantastic 4 movie that is going to come out? Obviously we don't know too much, but having a few people use a type of portal then stuff goes down on the other side of the portal may seem too similar. I don't really mind either way.

Oooh that sounds cool. Ruffalo looks pretty good for Columbo too!

I'm not sure if I stated this already, but what about the idea of Hulk going street level, more like the 80's tv series? Would you like it or not? They can come up with any idea that allows him to limit the Hulk's power, as long as it is temporary. Again, just another crazy idea that almost certainly won't happen, but would you like it?

After seeing Age of Ultron I'm realizing I really miss not having a Hulk solo film along with the others. The Big Three have had all these progressions but we don't really know what's going on with Banner other than - oh wow a relationship with Natasha and I'm like when did that happen? (Personally I thought it was a cool development though). And the ending of the movie really makes me want to know what happens to Hulk next. I could see at least one more Earth film that ends with the decision to jettison him into space. I happen to like the Planet Hulk arc so I'd be thrilled if it eventually became a film but not yet. Too soon. I want to see more of the Leader, Abomination, Betty and Thunderbolt Ross.

At any rate, I hope Marvel and Universal can get their you-know-what together because a new Hulk film needs to happen. I believe a Hulk movie made under the MCU banner today would definitely be successful. Especially if it's not dealing with the promotion nonsense the first one had to go through because of Norton being a prima donna.

Wait now... after looking at the casting I finally realized that that crazy guy was supposed to be the leader. XD
Not sure if I would want him back for the role, he didn't really look a lot like Sam Sterns... his acting was good though.

He can always be recast. He's also involved with foxs F4, so its unlikely he'd be back in the mcu.

With his minimal role in AOU, which I can honestly say I pretty much hated. I think another Hulk solo movie is needed more than ever. After doing him so well in Avengers his role in AOU was far too short and a big disappointment.
