You think we'd get a Hulk standalone movie if the Disney/Fox merger goes through all the way (which it likely will)? I mean it'd be perfect way to introduce Wolverine into the MCU, be a sure fire hit for a Hulk solo, then maybe a post credit scene with Charles Xavier recruiting Logan?

I'm sure Marvel and Universal could work something out for that.

This Disney/Fox merger(if it goes through) makes it even more unlikely of another standalone Hulk movie happening.

That dynamic would only work if it were a Wolverine Solo with Hulk as an enemy

It could cut both ways (no pun)

Something drives Banner over the edge, he goes berserk, Hulk comes out to play, then Fury or Stark call in some Canadian mutant for hire to help with neutralizing him.

what I meant was that there is no way disney does such a movie as anything other than as someone else's movie and simply adding in Hulk as an enemy or ally

Indeed. Hulk is already lower priority, add to that need to make an X-Men, Fantastic Four film, and maybe Wolverine, Dr. Doom and others as well, Hulk gets pushed further down the list.

Marvel has enough possible projects on the slate beyond Avengers 4. Hulk not getting a solo anytime soon. And they aren't interested in going to the table to get the distribution rights from Universal. Just not a priority to them.

They will use him like they are doing now.

I'd rather see Hulk vs. Thing.

Isn’t the reason we haven’t see a hulk stand alone yet because of universal? Not fox?

So probably not. But hey give it a few years and Disney will own everything

I agree, however I don't think Wolverine will be getting a solo movie. After the success of Logan it's kind of hard to find to top it. It's like with Homecoming they looked at all past spider-man films and made a list of what not to do, so they make something new. I see the same thing happening with X-men. I actually picture Wolverine taking a role more like the Hulk, being a main character in other films but not having his own.

Wolverine is the most popular X-Men character (not factoring in Deadpool). There is no way they sideline one of their most popular characters forever. He will get solos at some point.

TC acknowledges that...he was just suggesting that Disney could entice Universal with the idea of a Hulk/Wolverine movie and potentially work something out. But as others have said...that's very doubtful. I have a feeling we're probably not gonna see Hulk for awhile after Avengers 4.

I hope Hulk survives, just in the event that Disney can trade some IPs to Universal to get the Hulk distribution back and make a solo. I think of all the films Marvel could make, Hulk sequel is only just barely below a FF movie.

I'm not saying "sideline" him. I'm say make him a major character in several movies.

The Wolverine brand name is too valuable.

I imagine the MCU version will just be called Wolverine once he gets solos. We actually have yet to get a film just called Wolverine. We got THE Wolverine earlier.

Jeez this almost sounds like the plot of an animated movie not to far back. :o
