i think it should, it would help many fans who cant control not watching clips before the movie is release

I think they should be released after the films too. Studios complain about piracy yet they reveal pretty much the entire film through clips and trailers anyways. Case in point, Wolverine. The whole movie was shown by way of clips and trailers (hell they even did a "cameos" trailer BEFORE the release) and then the leak happens. Studios give the audience absolutly NOTHING to be surprised about these days.

Yeah we can sit there and still be impressed by a scene but how much more would we love it if we had no idea it would be in the movie?

I very much dislike movie clips, they're always cut up and hardly ever give a good impression of the actual scene. The Departed springs to mind.

anyone else want to give their input?

Yes. I hate it but then I love seeing new footage, I cant control myself.. I keep hitting replay afterwards.. :(

I don't mind it that much, but how else would studios/actors/actresses promote their movies without trailers/clips?

You know they used to not use them that much right? In fact movies used to do pretty well at the box office before the internet too

I never watch movie clips anymore. Ever since SM3 I stopped.

I'm a firm believer in going into a film fresh and not expecting anything. I'll watch trailers, because they're manipulative in a sense, but hell, I want to see some footage. But clips is what I'll stay away from. Like Falcone said, they edit, and it's nothing like in the film. And just seeing those clips out of the context with the rest of the film takes away that magic from seeing it the first time.

I think they should not release clips at all.

No. It's no different than people who complain about reading spoilers in a spoiler section.

If you don't want to be spoiled, then don't spoil yourself. I like to review my product before I purchase, why should I suffer because someone else has no self control?

I usually skip clips. There are certain movies that I may watch a few clips for, but sometimes it can be a huge overload so I'll stop (like Watchmen). I must have watched like five clips for that movie and stopped after that. At least 12 more clips must have came out after I stopped watching.

Exactly. Exercise some discipline and this isn't an issue. Anyone who simply refuses to muster a little self-restraint needs to take a personal inventory instead of wishing the kibosh was placed on a basic promotional element, especially when there's an identifiable subset of the movie-going audience that enjoys clip releases. Studios don't barge into people's homes and force them to watch this stuff. This is ridiculous.
