Something like that. I think it could work. You're not gonna have the best special effects like the movies. Smallville made it work for television.

You could also introduce some of Spider-Man's lesser known villains like The Jackal and Hydro-Man. You could also introduce Hammerhead and Silvermane into the picture for more of a story.

So much of Spider-Man's abilities are high profile acrobatics. It would take a HELL of a stunt team to pull off someone with Spider powers on a TV budget. Just walking up walls is more than I've seen a TV show do even half decent. Superman/Smallville's powers are much easier/cheaper.

Still, might be worth a shot, a Scarlet Spider TV show could be pretty cool.

To answer the thread's question, sure. It doesn't have to happen, but I think it can be good if it does happen as long as they don't stick close to the comic.

The Clone Saga was a good story on paper that was horrendously executed. A properly-done Clone Saga has a lot of potential IMO. It was meh in Ultimate Spider-Man and although the 90's series' take was fantastic, it was more of an alternate-dimension saga with an alternate-universe Ben Reilly clone thrown in. TSSM was also building up the Clone Saga, but then it got cancelled. I know there is remake comic written by the original writers (which I hear is a huge improvement), but I never read it.

all you need is Ben, Kaine, Peter and the Jackel for the main players.

The Clone Saga would be Amazing!

They're already going all out with the Science with the Lizard and with the future villains we're going to see so why not?

On top of that, doing that allows this new Spider-Man to distance itself from the Raimi films which(I feel) were a little too grounded and allows Webb-haters who felt TASM was essentially pointless to die down a bit as something like the Clone Saga could never work in the Raimi films.
