That is something I'd like to see a lot but doubt they'd feature Namor and the Human Torch fighting alongside Cap. What do you guys think?

Human Torch cant be in it seeing as Fox owns the movie right to FF. Namor just wouldnt make any sense to non comic book fans just being thrown in there. Also, even me as a comic book fan finds it hard to believe a man who can breathe underwater, and stuff is helping to fight Nazis.

It's not the same Human Torch

Fox owns the rights to Johnny Storm. Not the Original Human Torch they are 2 different characters.

And to explain Namor being there its called writing thats how they usual explain things.

though I doubt they'd ever use the invaders, but we can't rule it out. if Cap is going to lead the Avengers in the Avengers movie it would be nice to show him leading other super powered character to show why he is the leader.

but it's like 1000 to 1 odds they'll even use the Invaders.

ps anyone know why theres not a Thor board? hopefully its coming soon.

Like Chewy said. It's not Johnny Storm. Different Torch.

Personally, I think the Invaders should be on the Avengers cartoon series but not in the movies. For the film, there's just nothing that can be done with them, and including them would only draw the attention away from Cap and make Cap's backstory even more complicated.

Agree. You can have a Cap/Invaders flashback story in an Avengers cartoon series.

I think they could work it just depends on how they do it. like the X-men movies yeah the X-men were in it, but they were really about Wolverine. If the Cap movie is say an hour and 40 minutes long. and the there is plenty of time to include the Invaders it doesn't have to be a forced thing it can flow naturally. but like i said from the beginning its probably never ever gonna happen.

It doesn't matter that it's not Johnny Storm. It IS the Human Torch.

Remember when the old FF Cartoon had HERBIE the Robot and not Johnny? It wasn't because parents were afraid their kids would light themselves on fire. It was because someone had the rights to the Original Human Torch and wanted to make a movie. Therefore the cartoon couldn't use Johnny because their rights are linked together.

Just like you couldn't use Jay Garrick and his likeness rights even though you are not doing a movie about Barry Allen. You are still using The Flash and their linked rights.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

No Invaders. At least not for this movie. Keep it simple, it seems like this movie'll have enough to cover as it is...
Maybe in the sequel.

Invaders are for sequels... unfortunately, the Human Torch (and maybe even Toro) may be blocked because of the concept's ties to the Fantastic Four movies.. I'm not sure if Namor is still tied to Universal as a separate property or not..

I know they're not going to use the Invaders if if they were going to probably couldn't right now due to character rights, bu don't understand how the Invaders would be for a sequel. its either use them or don't. I think its pretty obvious that Captain America is going to get frozen by the end of this movie, so how exactly would they make a Sequel with the Invaders fighting in WW2?

Agree. You can have a Cap/Invaders flashback story in an Avengers cartoon series.
that makes so much more sense than a sequel with them in it. but this is marvel animation we're talking about they'll probably never do that.:(

Does Marvel even have the rights to the Submariner? I thought he was with another studio?

I'd say a reference of some kind, some sort of implication of their existence would be nice. But don't use them overtly. They'd be kind of hard to fit in.

Agreed. It would be cool to have a reference to them existing though. Maybe have a character inform Cap that the Torch and Namor took out german troops somewhere. Something like that.

Maybe a newspaper headline mentioning the invaders or someone throwing the name out there during the show...but I wouldn't want to see them. He's supposed to be the first super human...they might just complicate things

Rage

Yeah. I think a brief hint in the naration would be fine.

The best one though would be a newspaper headline and photo describing the battle between human torch and namor in NYC. That is the definitive early marvel moment that I would like to see referenced.

I could kinda see that, but my question for some of yuz iz: Why must we see the Invaders in the movie?

But that was 30 years ago. There's no telling what type of deal Marvel signed with Fox in the present day.

Thing about it is, they probably dont want to have to risk going to court to prove the differences between the two characters...too much of a hassle, i imagine.

The invaders just wouldn't work, it would be cool for us comic book fans but just wouldn't make sense

Ideally,

I'd like to see Captain America get frozen at the end of the solo series and influencing the future Invaders team thus becoming the first masked superhero and hinting at the "bigger universe" Fury was alluding too at the end of Iron Man.

I do not think that Human Torch and Namor have a place specifically, but I think Union Jack pre-Union Jack acting as a British recon/stealth soldier during the war who gives Cap a hard time for his uniform and boy scout sensibility and head-on M.O. become Union Jack after the "death" of Cap with the same actor playing the WWII era Union Jack and later on the present day relative who takes over the mask.

But Union Jack started in WWI. =P
