Should the non word EMO be banned.

I hate the word emo.
I also dislike the guys who dress with the emo style. They are all a bunch of punks. Quit wearing your tight ass pants (and especially those who thinks girl pants are teh coolz), cut your damn hair, quit listening to the stupid b!tchy music, take the damn make-up off, go outside and breath the fresh hair, and act masculine, not a little b!tch. Be a man.

Also, stop cutting yourself. Cutting does not do anything positive at all. Cutting yourself is even worse than most drugs, because at least some drugs give you the false security that you are doing something positive to yourself (calming yourself down, relieving stress, etc.). If you cut yourself and mess up, you deserve what happens to you.

Hmm... not really stereotyping. Certain types of people like to chose to beling to certain social groups and wear different things. You can tell a lot about people by what they wear. People say "labelling" as if its some bad way of just putting people into categories... but the people have already chosen to be a part of those categories. Labelling the categories is just an easy way to reference them.

Emo generally refers to anyone who's angst-ridden and whines about the smallest, most insignificant problems (that includes all teenagers I guess). I think it's similar to sissy and punk.

I hope it becomes a word because it's apt for describing in simplistic terms whiny little beyotches.

I wish people would just let it go. What people are calling emo these days are were formerly called skaters and goths it's just evolved. The worst thing is when my middle schoolers talk about emo people as if anyone who cuts or self-mutilates is 'emo'. I told them to get a clue and realize that emo is a style and people who mutilate themselves have serious mental issues.

honestly, 'emo' is a style of dress, if we ban 'emo, let's ban gangsta', skater, goth, prep, etc...

like you said, cutting yourself and crying over the newest chemical romance record isn't emo, that's being emotionally disturbed in some form... wearing too-small t-shirts and girl's jeans with black converse sneakers is emo...

is that completely stupid? yup.

should we ban it? nope.

being in touch with your emotions and crying or being down every once in a while is normal... being emo is nappy. there's a big fat difference.
