Well, if we really wanted to focus on world peace...it would be a good start getting rid of our nukes. I doubt nukes would do us any good in a alien invasion, since aliens have advance technology. Also, nukes are just bad...evil. They can destroy the environment and kill all life on Earth. Do we really have to fight with ourselves? Seriously?

Why? Because I'm anti-nuke? Look, if we are gonna keep nukes I could only see it for one reason. And it's an unlikely one. Alien invasion. Here's why this idea is unlikely...

1) Wouldn't do any good.

2) I don't think an alien invasion is gonna happen anytime soon. It would have already happen by now anyway if it was suppose to happen.

Money can be put to better use than weapons of mass destruction anyway.
