Should the US pull out of the Middle East entirely?

The point is that we could still leave the Mid east, drop support for Israel, and leave Iraq and that wouldnt stop a thing....but as was said before that is giving up and it is something we shouldnt do. What happens when someone else wants something crazy and feels the best way to get the US to accept their terms is by using terrorism?????

People think Osama just wanted to kill some infidels because he "hates our freedoms".
BULLS***.
He stated very clearly after 9/11 that his main beef was that the U.S. was in Saudi Arabia. No one seems to remember that.

And his men were too incompetent to pull it off anyway, the US government just used them as scapegoats. Poor Bin Laden, he actually believes that he's the one responsible for 9/11. :o

I was listening to a replay of Art Bell last night, and a former Navy or Marine general suggested the United States pull out of the Middle East entirely. Stop supporting Israel, stop interfering with their affairs. Have strictly diplomatic trade relations with some of them, but nothing beyond that. He claimed this is the only REAL way to stop Middle Eastern terrorism and stabilize the Middle East.

What are your thoughts?

I disagree that we should take that policy with every Middle Eastern country.

We should try to have good relations with Middles Eastern countries that are democracies, respect human rights in general, and don't tolerate terrorist organizations within their country.

The rest we should take an off-hands approach, with only a mininum relationship needed to conduct basic diplomacy and business affairs.

If any country becomes a democracy, respecting human rights in general and doesn't tolerate terrorism attacks on other countries, than we should move to have good relations with them as well.
