Siege

I had pondered over it and the logical solution to defeating him is mentally. Based on what he did to Ares, Void influenced Sentry is too powerful. Odinforce Thor wouldve stood a chance, but at his current power level I doubt it would be even. My guess is that they somehow trick him into reverting back into Bob (ala WWH) and he gets "put out of his misery". It would a nice twist if Phobos gets the last shot.

So.....................adding to my theory that the big bad in Siege will be Sentry and not Loki.

Yeah, I was kinda sad that there was no Loki at all in this issue. I do hope that he ends up playing a bigger role as the series nears its climax.

I wonder what Loki's endgame is. Worst case scenario:The Asgardians are all wiped out. Seems pointless to get Thor to bring them all back if that was Loki's goal(hell he could have did this earlier). Loki is after something else because he has to be a fool to think that his people will make their way out of this if Osbourne wins.

Maybe he's setting up Osborn for a fall so he can save the day and be the "hero of Asgard"?

Do the other Dark Avengers even know Loki is involved? I think only Maria Hill is privy to that knowledge. So more than likely, he'll pretend innocence. He won't be banned from Asgard, but will keep his same status as shady.

I don't know. Something tells me when this is all said and done, his face is gonna have a date in a deep dark hole with a big ass snake dripping acid venom on him for however long it takes until he breaks out again.

Mighty Avengers know as well as The Hood.

Phobos is totally getting the kill-shot on Sentry. They wouldn't have made it a point to have him kept out of the fight initially for no reason.

I was going to say something like, Sentry will face Franklin Richards (at full power) to the death and ultimately loose to him.
Or
the Sentry will be eaten by Galactus.

But isn't Phobos the god of fear or something?
And the only weak spot Sentry has is his mind right? So Phobos will destroy him mentally. I would be surprised if that didn't happen.
I can see Phobos standing there, in a power stance with rage on his face, while Bob is writhing in front of him being town apart mentally.
Maybe bob will be able to regain control or something long enough to fly into the sun and sacrifice himself.

Wow I just read Siege 2. Can anyone even do that to Ares? Isnt the guy supposed to be a god? I knew Sentry was powerful, but THAT powerful?

The Sentry is apparently the most powerful character ever, as far as Bendis seems to think. He just has the Sentry do whatever he wants, basically.

Something confused me about the missing page of Osborn's plan. Besides the fact that it was hilarious that they f***ed up the planning session in #1 and then 'made up for it' by posting just the missing page in #2 (so you can never actually read the whole thing unless you want to whip out 2 separate comics), what was all that business about taking out Heimdall's tower first so the Asgardians can't call reinforcements via Bifrost? Reinforcements from where? The whole bloody Asgardian dimension is empty and everyone's on Earth already.

Yeah that confused me to. I thought maybe they'd call the dark elves or Trolls or even Hela in or something. But yeah, it's Bendis science. Almost equal to Loeb science but just not as crazy.

They all have different power classes and what not, but for the most part the "gods" in the Marvel Universe are just slightly above mutants or metas in terms of strength or durability, then they have some kind of absolute knowledge on their respected subject; Ares knew all kinds of weapons combat, was a tactical genius and would have easily brought down Osbournes entire Siege had he went to the heroes instead of going after Osbourne himself.

So yes, someone with an unlimited power class (Sentry), could rip anyone apart like that. He has molecule man status where he can rearrange things molecule by molecule (how he put himself back together), and it's already been shown that he has enough brute strength to go up and hold his own against Green Scar Hulk, which was one of the strongest Hulks there's been.

When it was showing all the realms and Loki was talking about how theres 9 of them or whatever, I kinda assumed it would be a plot point for something later. Destroying the Bifrost bridge might seal the way between asgard and the rest of the realms, meaning they couldn't get help from whatever else is out there (don't have the books in front of me, so meh).

The Nine Realms are all from Norse mythology. Asgard, Midgard (Earth), Muspelheim, Jotunheim, Niflheim, Nidavellir, Alfheim, Vanaheim, and Svartalfheim, all connected by Yggdrasil. As far as we've seen post-Ragnarok, only Svartalfheim is actually inhabited right now (by the dark elves, as shown in Incredible Hercules).

Hela's in Vegas, dude. The dark elves and trolls have always been enemies of the Aesir who'd be happy to see them go down in flames. Hell, Ulik was one of the leaders of the final Ragnarok.

I know. I'm not saying it makes sense, I'm just TRYING to understand how Bendis thinks and believe me, it's not easy.

I think Bendis just doesn't know much about Asgard's current state. Not that it really matters; it was ancillary material to the comic and it doesn't really affect the story at all. I might as well be a Thor scholar for how much attention I pay to everything related to him and Asgard, though, so I noticed it and thought it was odd.

anyone in the uk manage to get a copy. the guy at my shop said the shipment crashed and most were unsellable

Cap's team doesn't have many heavy hitters does it? Thor's banged up, then the closest you have after that is Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man. The Sentry's gonna be a handful.

Did anyone notice this tentacle by the way? I actually didn't until it was pointed out to me. Void is Cthulu obviously now. =p

The original Vision could increase his density to the point that he was almost as strong as the top-tier powerhouses. He once fought the Silver Surfer in an active volcano and came out of it okay. But I don't know if Vision Jr. has that same ability. So far we've only seen him go intangible.

That's the story I got to explain why there were no copies of Invincible Iron Man, though I got Siege. I was told that Marvel is already arranging for a reprint of all this week's comics, to be sent out next week.
