Siege

Let the faux heroes come. Anything for a grand adventure, as far as Volstagg the Warriors Three pretty much any Asgardian is concerned. :)

Hey i was just thinking, what if Norman's mysterious bodyguard is that Collective dude from the "Collective" arc in New Avengers? Didnt he have like the power of all of the depowered mutants? That would make him extremely powerful and enough to make even Doom afraid right?

im thinking its Marvelman

It isn't.

It's
Kid Marvelman.

Well if that's the case then Norman should be s**ting his pants, lest he get butt raped by a lazy boy made of baby skulls.

What was that Siege: Embedded book that came out today. I flipped through it and it didn't look too necessary.

Volstagg and Ben this time, I think. But someone who already read it--random havoc, I think--mentioned that Volstagg doesn't play too big a role and it definitely follows the Frontline formula.

Siege #1 is one of those issues that makes me wonder why people hate on Bendis so much. It is, by far, one of the best comic issues out recently, and is Bendis at top-form. TOP FORM.

The pacing is amazing, and the way it builds like a freggin' nulcear explosion is great. Also, some of the images (like Blake running as the jets zip overhead) are just breathtaking.

Definitely in for the long-haul here, and looking forward to what's next.

Although, did anyone else have a weird page count with the transmission transcript about the invasion plans -- like, did the pages go back and repeat themselves and proceed differently at one point?

The pacing is so amazing b/c he doesn't have 6-8 issues to drag out a story like he usually does. 4 issues, that's it. Tell your story and be done w/ it. Great story so far though

It's good that the pacing is at light speed mainly because when there's no action you get classic Bendis dialogue where the characters gobackandforthandbackagain. SIEGE #1 was very good. A quick read but good. The one thing that bothered me was shelling out $4 for a book half stuffed with previews and other crap. Coipel's art was rushed in some spots but when the big moments came he picked it up.

i did!! Which sucked bc the transmission piece was funny as heck. Bulls/Hawkeye is certainly the real "Spiderman" of the group.
As far as the actual book, two words: TOO SHORT. Lots of action in a small amount of time. A good comparision would be if you were a getting a lap dance from the baddest girl in the world and it only lasted one minute and the rest of the time she talks to you about Darwin.
