Siege

Bendis is writing SIEGE, New Avengers finale, plain Avengers, New New Avengers, while Brubaker has one book (that people seem more skeptical of) and Slott may have nothing.

Nevertheless others besides Bendis have been/will be writing Avengers books. :oldrazz:

As for people being skeptical about Bru's book...I can only speak for myself but his is the main one I'm looking forward to, not even knowing the membership at this point. Bendis hasn't been able to hold my interest before on Avengers stuff and I don't see that changing.

I'm right there with you pal. Brubaker has blown me away on Cap since he took it over, DD was great too. SIEGE is the first thing I've enjoyed majorly from Bendis in a while. The reason? It's been all action. The longest conversations were Osborn/Loki at the beginning and Steve's speech in #2.

I'm sure Brubaker will do a good job, but I'm just worried about the concept of the book. "Secret" Avengers implies some kind of black ops, off-the-books team to me, which is in absolutely no way, shape, or form what the Avengers should ever, ever be about. I'd be more excited for Brubaker's series as well, but I have to see what the concept for it is first. Whether I even buy the book at all hinges entirely on that.
Hair is short enough for Bucky.
Bucky's already confirmed for Avengers.

It's all a ploy. Bucky dies in Siege and Steve takes over the Bucky costume in remembrance.

Bru's book is the only one I'm interested in too... other than seeing what happens with Rogers, but that isn't enough to get my money for anything other than 'Secret' at this point.

Still got my fingers crossed for Songbird to make an Avengers team.

I don't think 'Secret' will be like x-force...I'm thinking more along the lines of an Illuminati/Secret Warriors type thing where they just try to come up with solutions to the world's dark and commonly unknown problems

Still seems a bit shady for the Avengers to me, but I would give that a shot, at least.

I wasn't aware that Powerpuff Girls-avatar-havers are a cowardly and superstitious lot, too. :batman:

Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

I should know!!

Yeah, but you throw enough s**t at a wall, one turd is bound to stick.

the clue to figuring out Marvel is think about the most improbable and stupid thing that goes against the character's nature and it will happen

I agree. Secret Avengers won't be the team standing outside of Avengers Mansion for a press conference and photo op. They'll quietly save the world on a daily basis and leave the public on a "not need to know" basis. Could be intriguing, especially if someone started snooping around about a year into the run trying to expose them.

Oh no! Siege #4 got delayed a month. Its now solicited for May 12th instead of april. The artwork must be getting to Coipel. Oh well....

usually, plus, this s**t is out in Oklahoma. What's he gonna do? Buy a plane ticket and fly out there to fight some super criminals and defend the 40 ton lifting immortal warriors? Get the f**k outta here. Plus, now he's gotta lug around that army of undead ninjas, and Southwest has just terrible seating problems, it's just too damn much of a hassle.

DD knows his limitations. Here's an exchange between him and Spidey while the FF and Avengers were fighting Galactus.
